Edgewood's Tiger Talk
February 13th, 2023
We are committed to our journey of developing EACH child to be an inspired learner and a caring, contributing citizen.
Principal's Update
1) Spring Conferences are on March 2nd. This round of conferences is differentiated. While all families can expect an update on their children (either in writing or with a phone call), not all families will be invited in for a conference. Different students need different things at different times, and this format lets us respond to that. Please look at Parent Square to see if you are invited in for a conference. And, if you are not invited in for a conference but would like to talk with your child's teacher, you are always welcome to request one.
2) The Spring Dance is back, after a 3 year hiatus. Children are PUMPED. And, this event WILL NOT HAPPEN without parent volunteers. We need you! Haven't ever volunteered before? No problem! We'll show you the ropes. In elementary school, kids LOVE when their parents help with school events. This phase of life doesn't last forever, so don't miss your chance! Sign up to volunteer HERE.
As an added note, dances in elementary school are not "date" events. (At Edgewood, we actively discourage boyfriends/girlfriends as developmentally, children are not ready. It leads to conflicts and hurt feelings. Research shows that children who develop secure friendships with other children of both sexes are more successful in school, life, and relationships later in life). The dance is a family dance, and children must be accompanied by and supervised by an adult 18 or over while at the dance.

Also, during the dance, we have RAFFLE BASKETS. Kids love these. Each grade level has a theme, you donate items, and they're put into baskets. You can put a ticket in to win a basket. Kids have so much fun with this. Look for the Raffle Basket letter later this week!
