LOUD LIBRARIANS LEAD! with Josh from the SDBTBL!
Josh Easter is the Equipment and Audio Production Manager for South Dakota Braille and Talking Book Library, and he visits with Laura about programming for people with standard print disabilities. Josh has worked at the South Dakota State Library for over 15 years with 13 of those dedicated in the Braille and Talking Book Library. This special services library works to ensure "that all may read" by providing eligible patrons access to reading material regardless of age, disability, economic circumstances, or technical expertise.
Josh's family includes his sister Sarah (who, coincidentally, also works at the South Dakota State Library) and their parents, Chuck and Marci. The Easters have been in South Dakota over 17 years now. Josh grew up in Independence, Missouri which is part of the Kansas City, MO metro area. If you’ve ever played The Oregon Trail you’ll know that Independence, MO is the start of the three trails west: the Sante Fe, California, and Oregon. It is also the location of the Harry S. Truman Presidential Library and Museum.
Josh's hobbies include singing, hiking, and dance. Josh teaches dance classes several evenings a week with his sister Sarah. He is involved in the local Master Gardener group, enjoys playing video games and the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe). He recently completed the South Dakota Library Institute program and loved connecting and collaborating with colleagues across the state.
