Barber Bulletin

SC Ready English Language Arts and Mathematics will be administered statewide to students in grades 3-8 during the month of May. Below are our school’s testing dates:

Grades 3-8 Test Dates

Writing Tuesday, May 15

Reading Wednesday, May 16

Math Thursday, May 17

Science Tuesday, May 22

Grade 4 only

Soc. St. Tuesday, May 22

Grade 5 only

*3rd grade students do not take Science or Social Studies this year

It is our hope that you will take time to learn more about this assessment. The State Department has posted numerous websites to help you become acclimated with the test and the test format.

It is important that your child be in attendance on these testing days and arrive prior to 8:10am. Students who are absent will be required to complete make up testing upon their return to school. Parents can also help your child prepare by ensuring a good night’s sleep for your child as well as providing a healthy breakfast on these testing days.

As a school, we will continue to motivate our students to do their best on this statewide assessment. Thank you for your continued support!

It’s that time of year! All library books & materials are due by Friday, May 25th. If you have lost your library materials, please pay lost fees by then, as well.

May 15th SC Ready ELA Session One/Writing Grades 3-5

May 16th SC Ready ELA Session Two/Reading Grades 3-5

May 17th SC Ready Math Grades 3-5

May 22nd SC PASS Science Grade 4 Only

May 22nd SC PASS Social Studies Grade 5 Only

(Third grade students do not take the SC PASS tests for science and social studies)

Lost and Found

"The temperatures are rising and so are the jackets in lost and found. Please stop in and check for your lost items before the school year ends."

Please have your child check the lost and found area. We have a lots of coats, jackets, sweaters and other items that need to be claimed. Unclaimed items will be donated to charity.

Teacher Appreciation Luncheon

Hello Pontiac Parents,

As you may know, Teacher Appreciation Week is May 7-11. During this week PTO has traditionally provided lunch to help celebrate the dedication of our hardworking Pontiac teachers. We have traditionally asked our generous families to provide desserts for our teacher luncheon. If you would like to donate to this event, representatives from Pontiac PTO will be collection dessert donations in the morning carline on Friday, May 11th. These desserts will be served to our teachers at the luncheon that afternoon. Thank you for continued support of Pontiac and our PTO.

Living by the Mission statement

Now that you created your family mission statement, make sure it is visible and conspicuous, because it is time to live it! Some families put it in a frame and hang it in different locations in their home as a reminder. Other families repeat their family mission statement at meals to remind them of what their family stands for before they go out the door.

We trust that you were well pleased. We are now completing this fundraiser for our school.

If you would like to purchase any part of these portraits, please return the payment to your child's teacher tomorrow.
If you do not desire to purchase these portraits, please return the package to your child's teacher tomorrow.
