Hummingbird Staff of the Week
Ms. Cavazos actually wanted to steer as far away from a career in education as possible because she always saw her mother work so hard. "I will never work that hard," she'd always say. However, after many years in the medical field, the call to teaching struck her like a bolt of lightening.
Ms. Cavazos's family keeps her honest and her nieces and nephews inspire her to be a better person, worker, and friend. She has a lot of songs on her "you can do it!" playlist that inspire her as well: Give It All You Got (Chuck Mangione), I Gotta Believe (Yolanda Adams), Pressure (Billy Joel), and Whenever God Shines His Light (Van Morrison), just to name a few. Introspective and uplifting!

- Ms. Pleasant is settling in well with the second graders and the team
- 1st grade students are growing academically based on their ISIP and IReady data
- Content team one one data meetings with third and fourth grade went well!
- 4th grade teachers and students are doing well with the additional students they are working with
- DL teachers for a great DL showcase and Ms. Cavazos for coordinating it.
- All of ILT who stayed to help out. The parents enjoyed it!.
- Kinder students behavior are decreasing
- Ms. Amador, Ms. Monroy and Coach Sallee for working together as a team to make sure things are done for the cafeteria.
- Ms. Payton for doing an awesome job on the mic during cafeteria duty.
