Message From the Principal
Since our last newsletter we have had several events occurring. WIDA testing is underway for our English Language Learner students. We had our quarter two LIFT time and celebration. We have also been looking at NWEA results and discussing this with staff and students.
Tuesday is our 100th day of school. Different grade levels have different celebrations planned. We will also have free shipping on Lynwood spirit wear starting on 2/3, a link to purchase spirit wear is below.
2/10 is our winter carnival from 5:30-7:30PM. We will have games, foods, auctions, and more. We hope to see you there! We appreciate all of the donations that have already came in also. We are giving raffle tickets for those donations for a chance to win a special prize basket.
Spring break is just around the corner. We still have lots of learning before we get to that point, including IREAD. Our third graders have been working tremendously hard preparing for this test. During this time we may see inclement weather. We have two days available for non-live learning. Students would complete the work on their Canvas course just like on Election Day. In the event that we have more than two more eLearning days, we would go to live learning through Webex and Canvas (both are on your student's iPad). The schedule for this type of eLearning day is listed below:
9:30am-11:00am-Block 1 live instruction
11:00am-1:00pm-Midday break
1:00pm-2:00pm- Block 2 live instruction
2:00pm-3:00pm- Wrap up (students complete work on own, teacher available for support)
With Lynwood Pride,
Jay Lovell
Principal

Culture Guide
E= Events: We cannot control things that happen
R= Response: We can control our response to the event
O=Outcome: Having a proper response will get the desired outcome.
This concept is powerful for all of us. Daily, many things happen that are out of our control. We can lash out or we can pause, think, and then respond. Pausing for reflection allows us to get the outcome that we need and want.
