Hawks' Weekly Update #16

Parents and Guardians,

I just want to express my gratitude to all our first responders, active duty military, veterans, and their spouses for their sacrifices and service to our community and nation.

The Breakfast with the Heroes event was remarkable. I can't express how much gratitude I feel for our PTA, volunteers, parents, and other community members who made this event possible. It makes a difference in the children's education to make the concepts of service and community real to the kids.

I also look forward to this week's activities to honor Native American Heritage Month. There will be assemblies on Monday and activities to teach our kids more about cultural traditions on Monday and Tuesday.

In addition, we have parent conference week. Hope you all enjoy the time with our teachers and remember to thank them for all they do for our kids.

Please don't forget to call the school if your child is absent. You can call and leave a voicemail at (619) 445-2977 in the evening before the absence or even early before the office opening. Thank you for supporting this critical school function.

Independent Study Contracts

If your student is going to be absent for an extended period, please make sure to request an Independent Study Contract from the office at least one week in advance. This will ensure that your child's teacher has ample time to prepare assignments, and your student can receive attendance credit during their absence.
