PE teacher and wrestling coach Matt Moeller was recognized by PSD as a Coach of Character! We are so proud of you and your impact on students.

To help streamline drop-off and pick-up, please adhere to Lesher’s Traffic Safety. The area directly in front of the main entrance is designated to busses only. The main entrance and cafeteria entrance are the only entry points to the building; however, during school hours, you must come through the front office.

Drivers:

• Slowdown

• PULL FORWARD in the drop-off/pick-up area

• Yield to pedestrians & crossing guards in crosswalks

• DO NOT BLOCK the roadway, bicycle lanes, handicap spaces, bus entrances, or driveways

• NO parking, stopping, or standing at RED CURBS

Bicyclists/Skateboarders

• Bicycles should use bicycle lanes & obey traffic laws • Dismount your bicycle/ skateboard on the sidewalk in front of the school& walk • Secure your bicycle/skateboard on the racks at the north side of the school

Pedestrians

• Use crosswalks

• Make eye contact with drivers prior to crossing

Boys and Girls Tennis- Open to 6th, 7th, & 8th graders

Update for 2023-2024: A note regarding district changes to middle school tennis for the 2023-2024 school year. After consideration and input from many stakeholders, middle school tennis has been restructured. Each school will field a Boys Tennis team and a Girls Tennis team. Each team will be composed of 18 players. Schools that have more than 18 boys or 18 girls interested will run tryouts and cut the roster down to 18 boys and 18 girls. All matches will be played in a doubles format. Students who do not make their school team will have the opportunity to play with other middle school students through a new partnership between Poudre School District and Lewis Tennis School. Team Structure: 18 boys and 18 girls, cut sport

Preseason Camp: August 14th and August 15th, 3:30-5pm @ Edora Park

First Practice: August 17th, 3:30-5pm @ Edora Park

Tryouts: August 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 3:30-5pm @ Edora Park

Practice: Daily at Edora Park tennis courts

Season Dates: 8/17/23 - 10/5/23

This year, make sure everything is up to date before you start your school year! Lesher will have their health tech available during "Check-in" and "Back to School" to answer questions and take medications prior to the start of school so that your student can start the year off ready!

Here's two tips from the health office:

1. All medications, prescription and non-prescription, require forms to be completed. Please review the "Procedures for Medications" and have your doctor complete and SIGN the "Authorization and Release" form found in this link: https://www.psdschools.org/programs-services/medications-health-action-plans

2. All 6th through 12th graders are required to have had a Tdap booster. Please bring an updated vaccine record from your doctor. For more information; please visit: https://www.psdschools.org/programs-services/immunizations-students

In June 2022, the Poudre School District Board of Education approved a five-year contract with Every Child Pediatrics, which operates the Health and Wellness centers at Lincoln Middle School and Centennial High School.

• Treatment of acute medical issues, such as colds, flu, acute illness and infections
• Management of chronic health conditions, such as asthma and diabetes
• Validated health needs assessments including screenings for depression and anxiety
• Counseling for mental health issues, skill development and resiliency building
• Health and wellness planning for adolescents
• Reproductive health care
• Prescriptions and in-house lab tests
• Health education and awareness campaigns
• Referrals to other medical and mental health professionals
• Vaccines/ immunizations (in collaboration with the Larimer County Department of Health and Environment)
• Dental screenings and services (in collaboration with community providers)
• Assistance with Medicaid/CHP+ enrollment (Centers are a Certified Application and Assistance Site or CAAS provider)

That’s right, Lesher Middle School earns money for every cap that is returned. Please turn them in to the box in the front office or send them to Mr. Mayer’s classroom (room 12). Know someone who has gone out of their way to help someone? See someone picking up trash, helping without being asked, or being a positive role model? Staff and students can nominate students who demonstrate kindness to be entered into a drawing for prizes. See link below!
