A Message From Your Principal
Greetings, Eames Way Families!
It's been a wonderful and exciting end to 2023! Monday was an epic Pajama Day - with and without power, students kept learning throughout the day and enjoyed some "unplugged" time reading books, playing games, and completing activities with their classmates. Thank you to all of our students, families, staff, and Eames Way neighbors who helped us adapt to and overcome the day's challenges -- It's days like Monday that make us even more proud and appreciative to have such a wonderful community!
We missed our students on Tuesday but were thrilled to have everyone back on Wednesday for our Winter Concert! Our musicians performed beautifully and their music was enjoyed by all who attended. On Thursday, EWS students enjoyed a guest performance by the MHS Marshalairs and Chamber Orchestra. It was inspiring to realize that one day our current EWS might be part of the Marshalairs and return to EWS to play for elementary students! On Thursday we also recognized thirteen more students for exemplifying the December Theme of the Month: Caring! The finale of the week was our EWS sing-a-long, during which students enjoyed several performances by EWS staff and students.
From all of us at Eames Way School, thank you for making 2023 such a wonderful year! The opportunity to learn and laugh every day with your children is a gift that all of us cherish. We hope that all of our children and families enjoy a relaxing and healthy break filled with many happy moments.
We look forward to making more great memories with all of you in 2024!
With Best Wishes,
Ms. Bishop, Principal

HEALTHY HOLIDAY SEASON
Here are a few tips to stay healthy and stop the spread this holiday season:
Practice hand hygiene frequently with soap and water or hand sanitizer.
Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue. If a tissue is not available, cover them with an elbow, not a hand.
Clean high-touch surfaces in your home frequently with household disinfectants.
Keep your child home from school if they have a fever, especially in combination with a cough, difficulty breathing, shortness of breath, congestion, runny nose, or sore throat. They should remain home until they are fever-free for 24 hours without fever-reducing medications.
Avoid social gatherings if you or your children are ill.
Proper handwashing, nutrition, adequate hydration, and regular sleep are the best ways to prevent illness. These strategies also shorten the duration of an illness.
Helpful tips for students to be successful at school:
Please pack a healthy snack EVERY DAY. Great snacks include easy-to-eat fruits and veggies like apples, oranges, carrots, and cucumbers as well as whole grain snacks including granola bars, and crackers. Cheese sticks and yogurts are another great option. These ideas help keep hungry bellies at bay and students ready to learn!
Have your child bring a water bottle to school EVERY DAY. The students have access to the bottle fillers and can refill their water bottles as needed throughout the day.
We want to be able to send students outside for as long as possible despite the chilly temps. Please be sure students dress in layers for school- they need warm weather gear for outdoor play even when the inside temperature is warm. If students do not have appropriate warm weather/snow gear their outside activities may be somewhat limited so they stay warm and safe.
