Dodge-Point Girls Cross Country places 4th, Boys 9th at WIAA Division 2 State Meet!

-- Our DP Girls team placed 4th overall with Ellie Robinson the top finisher in 8th, Annie Robinson 10th, Grace Wersal 63rd, Payton Christopher 64th, Lilly Houtakker 69th, Regan Schuette 78th, and Abbey Ludwig 97th.

-- Our DP Boys team placed 9th overall with Layne Aurit the top finisher in 9th, Cody Yoder 51st, Ethan Hook 69th, Parker Owens 100th, Jesse Yoder 103rd, Alex LaMere 123rd, and Gabe Engel 125th.

CONGRATULATIONS to all on a great run Saturday in Wisconsin Rapids and an amazing season! We are proud!

The Mineral Point Unified School District and staff, specifically Mrs. Erika Brunson, Middle/High School Counselor, was recently honored for being one of the top-producing Youth Apprenticeship programs in Southwest Wisconsin! The criteria is based on the number of students who are available to participate divided by the number of students who successfully complete the Youth Apprenticeship program. In 2022-23, #PointerNation had 33 students successfully participate in the program, which is approximately 27.5% of the eligible population. Statewide, the average participation rate is about 6%. Mineral Point is one of the most consistent districts in Youth Apprenticeship participation. This is due to the dedication of district staff who provide career-relevant instruction and student-focused guidance. Congrats, all!

Thanks to everyone who came out for the Costume Contest on a chilly Saturday morning! Special thanks to our MPHS Key Club for setting up and overseeing the games, the Historical Society for letting us do this at Orchard Lawn and for registering the participants, and the Kiwanis for organizing and running the event.

2nd graders in Mrs. Radtke’s class get a bit of time each week to independently study something they “wonder” about. Ladybugs...tsunamis…JJ Watt…mountains…the Venus Flytrap…WHATEVER! On most days of the week you can hear someone asking, “Is it Wonder Wednesday yet?!”

The MPHS Spanish Club will be hosting a Community Movie Night on Friday, November 3 in the high school gym from 6:15 - 8:15 pm! Come and celebrate Día de los Muertos by watching a classic movie showing a young boy's journey to meet his ancestors and learn the importance of following one's dreams.
