Principal's Message
We hope everyone enjoys their 3-day weekend, and we will see our Dragons back on campus Tuesday 9/6/22.
I would like to remind everyone of the importance of driving slowly, carefully, and cautiously during morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up. We have over 400 students who need to arrive and depart school SAFELY each day. Please pay special attention to our staff that supports this process and follow their directions.
As the weather continues to be HOT, please make sure your kiddos have water, and are dressed appropriately. We will continue to offer indoor options for students during our breaks and recesses.
Have a great weekend,
Reagan Phillips

Library News
Hello Dragons!
We are in full swing in the library. As books have been checked out, we are seeing that not all books are being returned yet. As a reminder, books are checked out for one week. If your student would like to continue reading their book, they must bring their books back and get them re-scanned. This is what we call renewing their books. Students may renew up to 3 times in order to finish reading a book. Thank you for helping our library keep books on the shelves for all students. This week the Birthday Book Club fliers went home. This is a great opportunity for students to leave a memento of themselves in the library for many years to come. How it works is you would pay $5 to pick a brand new book from our special birthday bookshelf to donate to the library. The birthday kiddo would be the first person to check out the new book for one week and then return for others to check out. Inside the book would be their name and birthday on a book plate sticker. Your student would receive a birthday pencil and bookmark to keep. It's a wonderful way for students to be a part of our library for many years. Remember, good things happen when you read!

Does your child ever seem to use negative self talk? Maybe you have heard statements like “No one likes me” or I am so dumb, I can’t do this” or even “my life is terrible.” What we say to ourselves, we actually begin to believe, which is why it is so important to teach our kids (and even ourselves sometimes) to challenge negative thoughts and replace them with positive ones. So the next time you catch your child saying self-degrading remarks, try having them challenge those thoughts with one of these positive statements:
I have a lot to be proud of
I am moving towards my goals
I CAN do it if I keep trying
I have all that I need
I am doing my best and today is going to turn out great
I am amazing in so many ways
I am strong and confident
I am brave and hold my head high
There are a lot of reasons people like me
Things will get better if I don’t give up
I choose to be positive about my day/situation
I am a unique person with so much to offer the world
If my friend had this thought, I would tell them...
I know people care about me and love me because...
What is the best possible outcome I can try for?
What is a more helpful thought I can try?
I will show my greatness by _____________________.
Thank you for ALL you do!

Hammer Headlines
I enjoyed running into parents at Back to School night. The students are so excited about the new school year.. Activities will be modified based on grade level. This weeks activities were parachute, frisbee, skillastic rotations, dodgeball, stretching and running. Each month we will have a skill we are learning. For this month it is frisbee. Every week we will be doing skillastic rotations, stretching, and running. Since the weather has been hot we have been doing activities in the shade as much as possible. Reminder it is very important that students have water bottles and closed toed shoes on PE days.
