December is here, and that means holiday fun with the Music Department. Please join us for a festive movie night here at MHS to support our Disney trip on December 1st at 7PM.

Next up, a trio of concerts here in the Auditorium. First, on December 7th, an evening of solos and small ensembles, featuring the MHS Jazz Band, the MHS Wind Ensemble, and the Fowler Jazz Band. Second, our Choral ensembles will serenade the crowd on December 13th. To finish the MHS Auditorium series, our Band will play on December 15th.

All of the groups will unite in the Fowler Auditorium on December 20th. Join us as we ring in -- and sing in -- the holiday season!

Congratulations to our Class of 2023 John and Abigail Adams Scholars. Their hard work on the MCAS has won them a scholarship that covers tuition for four years of education at any Massachusetts state college or university. While tuition is only a small percentage of a college bill, any free money for college makes a HUGE difference in todays economy!

This is just the first of many honors for this year's graduating class. Stay tuned as they finalize their plans for next year -- we will keep you posted!

Maynard High School is a popular destination for students from all around the globe. We recently heard from Hillary Harris, a representative of the Pan Atlantic Foundation. They have an Italian student registered to attend MHS as a junior this spring semester. The Foundation does pay a monthly stipend to host families.

DPW – Update – Town Wide fall 2022 Paving Program. The Maynard Department of Public Works would like to notify all residents of Maynard that Lazaro Paving will be reconstructing several streets in Town this fall, starting on or around Tuesday, November 1, and lasting until around December 15. The following areas will undergo roadway reconstruction:

Streets:

Great Road –from the Sudbury Town line (approx. Maybury Road) to Parker Street (Route 27)

Assabet Street –from the dead end to Riverview Avenue and from Riverview Avenue to the Stow Town line (11 Assabet Street)

Old Sudbury Road –from the Sudbury Town line (Cranberry Circle) to the Acton Town line (Old Powder Mill Road)

Old Marlboro Road –from Parker Street to Tobin Drive (just short of Great Road)

Travel on these roads may be delayed, or temporarily detoured; please plan accordingly. Please contact the Maynard DPW office with any questions or issues.
