SISD Safety Updates
Our team here in Somerville ISD has worked extremely hard over the summer to continue making our campuses as safe as possible for our students! As safety and security is our utmost concern, below are just a few of the projects that we have been working on this summer:
- 3M Safety and Security Film installed on all exterior doors and windows
- ID badge access points installed on campus/district exterior doors to reduce the use of keys and being alerted when doors have been propped open
- Campus and district buildings have been rekeyed to restrict access to essential personnel and ensure that entry points are controlled
- Concrete sidewalk poured from football stadium bleachers to concession/restroom area
- Wheelchair ramps installed with access to the sidewalks leading up to the Yegua Center
- Digital repeater installed on local radio tower to allow SISD personnel and emergency first-responders to communicate more effectively in the case of an emergency
- HealthPoint Clinic partnership to provide more convenient healthcare access for all SISD students and staff
- Rollout of student ID badges for students pre-k - 12 grade which principals will further communicate this in the coming week(s)
- Rollout of the Somerville ISD Safe Schools Reporting Form for students, staff, and community members to report safety concerns to SISD administration and campus safety officer (click here to access)
- District-wide implementation of Crisis Go Safety Platform with Silent Panic Alert Technology access for all SISD employees (fully implemented in September)
