Scripture For Grief, Recovery, & Joy for Week 13

This Weeks Scripture
The Lord is your keeper;
the Lord is your shade on your right hand.
The sun shall not strike you by day,
nor the moon by night.
Psalm 121:5-6 ESV
Preparation for this week
When preparing for the week ahead, think about the following: God is Our Protector and Refuge.
Food For Thought
Grief is one of the most difficult emotions to come to grips with, but it doesn't have to be faced alone. Seeking hope in grief and loss can seem daunting, yet there is a source of strength for us in times such as these.
In today’s scripture, we are told that God is our protector and refuge even when we feel like everything else has been taken away from us due to grief or loss. This gives us an assurance that despite how hard things may seem to be at the moment, God will be there with us no matter what happens or what we go through.
Today’s scripture also highlights that although grief and loss can feel like darkness has encroached upon our lives, no darkness can prevail over the light that God brings into our lives. Despite whatever sadness or despair we face, His light will continue to shine when all other lights go out due to grief and sorrow. This allows us to continue looking towards a brighter future as we find hope and strength within ourselves because of God's presence in our lives during these difficult times.
Today, scripture reminds us that although life may sometimes become overwhelming during moments of sadness or despair, God remains present in our lives as a shield against any form of darkness or fear that may try to encroach upon us during these trying times – giving us hope along the way. With the power of faith, love, and grace, we can come out of any difficult situation with a renewed sense of hope that comes from relying on God; stand strong, knowing that you are never alone. He will carry you through!
Goals
This week, check in on your progress toward your monthly and larger goals. Take a few minutes to celebrate what you have accomplished!
What goals do you need to set for yourself this week to keep you on track? Visualize yourself completing them and write them down.
💡TIP: If you are struggling with hitting your goals, take some time to identify some possible obstacles that are getting in the way of you achieving what you want. Call those obstacles out, give them to God, and set your goals this week, accounting for the possible obstacles ahead, and make your goals specific with a timeframe to complete them.

Psalm 34:18 ESV
Today's Guide
When preparing for today, think about the following: God is Always by Our Side, Even When We Don’t Feel His Presence.
Food For Thought
Grief is an emotion that can be difficult to cope with. No matter the cause, the waves of sadness can seem overwhelming and inescapable at times. But there is hope, even in the midst of grief. As today’s scripture affirms and provides a reminder that no matter how deep our grief may be, God is still by our side.
God does not just offer His presence during times of grief; He also encourages us to keep going forward and trust Him for strength in moments of distress. When we open our hearts to Him, He can fill us with hope — the hope that our suffering will one day end. The promise of His nearness leads us to call out to Him in prayer, knowing that He hears and responds to us personally. There is comfort in knowing that God has not abandoned us but is instead waiting for us with a loving embrace as soon as we turn toward Him.
The grace and mercy of God do not take away all pain or erase all sorrows, but they bring peace and reassurance when we are struggling through hard times. When faced with difficult situations like grief, it can be helpful to remember that although we may feel helpless on our own, God never leaves us alone or forsakes us in these moments when healing feels impossible — His love remains available if we choose to accept it into our lives.
Gratitude
Today is a great reminder that even when we feel broken or overwhelmed with life's challenges, our loving Father is always there to help us through it. Gratitude helps us appreciate the good moments and take strength from them as we move forward.
Having a grateful heart helps us connect with God in a deeper way than ever before. How is God's love filling you today? What are the ways that you feel grateful for His grace and mercy in your life?
Today's Prayer
Lord, I am overwhelmed today and need You. I need you to guide, heal, and comfort my heart so that the enemy of my soul will not succeed. Thank you that I know You hear my prayer and answer me. You give me what I need to stand. I am grateful. Amen
