OLMP Weekly Bulletin - November 4, 2022
LEADERSHIP UPDATE-Enjoy the Fall Break!
Thank you to all the parents that were able to attend Parent Teacher Interviews this week! We encourage you to continue to reach out to staff any time throughout the school year as needed. Our staff are very proud of our students here at OLMP; they have settled into the school year very nicely!
As we move into our Fall Break, we all turn our thoughts to Remembrance day. Every year on November 11, Canadians pause in a moment of silence to honour and remember the men and women who have served, and continue to serve Canada during times of war, conflict and peace. Our school recognized this important time during a school assembly today which included a moment of silence. Thanks to Ms. Dmytriw, Ms. Music, Mr. Stang, and Mrs. Petiot for their leadership as well as all the students who contributed.
A reminder that our Fall break is Nov 7 - 11 where the school will be closed. Enjoy this well deserved break! We look forward to welcoming students back on Monday, November 14th. The next newsletter will go out on November 18th.
We will also be celebrating Catholic Education Sunday at St. Francis Xavier next weekend on November 13th @ 11am. All are welcome!
God Bless,

Insight Testing
Insight is a group-administered test of cognitive abilities, which will be administered to all grade 5 and 8 classes at OLMP after fall break. The assessment is designed to measure cognitive abilities including reasoning, comprehension, memory, and visual/auditory processing. Students do not need to study for this type of assessment and the results are not used to evaluate their school achievement. The results provide information to help teachers recognize student strengths and plan for additional support as needed. If you would like to learn more about this assessment tool, please visit http://www.canadiantestcentre.com and
select the Insight tab near the top of the page.
Individual Support Plans (ISPs) and/or Regulation Support Plans (BSPs)
A reminder to parents with children who have Individual Support Plans (ISPs) and/or Regulation Support Plans (BSPs):
If you haven't acknowledged your child's ISP/BSP, please log into PowerSchool and complete the acknowledgement process.
If there are questions or concerns, please contact your child's homeroom teacher or Mrs. Froehler (gr. 5-8) or Mrs. Reinhart (gr. 9-12).
These programming plans are working documents that are designed to support success in learning, behaviour and wellness. Thank you for your continued support.
REMINDER on Bus Etiquette
REMINDER: Any items that can NOT fit in a student’s backpack is not permitted on the bus, this includes school projects, fundraising items, sports equipment, instruments, etc. These items are a safety hazard and would become projectile should the bus be in an accident. The extra items also end up being placed in the aisle, blocking emergency exits. If a child tries to bring these items onboard they will be turned away.
Field Trips
Need to be booked and approved 7 days in advance
Departure time is time the wheels are rolling (when this does not happen, their regular scheduled routes are running late)
Rules apply to each bus the same - Code of Conduct is posted on each bus for easy reference
Cancellations - anything cancelled prior to 30 min of the trip departure time will not be charged, anything after you will be charged for the drivers time in full.
