We look forward to formally connecting with our families again in the month of February! We have scheduled two nights for conferences including February 22 and 24. Each night will have options for in person conferences or virtual conferences. Sign up information will come out separately this week.

We want to make conferences available to all of our families. If these times do not work for you please reach out to the classroom teacher and we will find a time that does!

We ran the "Cobra Cash" fundraiser to kick off the school year and came up a bit short. In collaboration with TEAM we are going to give it another shot. This fundraiser takes place of any door to door sales and you can win just by returning the slip of paper! Students will also bring home these sheet in the coming days.

There have been no changes to the plan since the last Cobra Connections went out, but we wanted to make sure that everyone was aware of the new guidelines. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to reach out to the elementary office.

Safe Learning Plan Changes:

• Isolation and quarantines can end after 5 full days if you are fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication and other symptoms have improved.
• It is important that if you are doing the new shortened quarantine to wear a well-fitting mask on days 6-10. Students who do not want to mask for days 6-10 are required to continue to isolate through day 10 and follow the previous guidance.
• Case rates on the district's Covid Dashboard will also reflect the active case rate in the last 5 days.

Our school district is asking students in grades 5,8,9, and 11 to participate in the 2022 Minnesota Student Survey (MNSS). Federal law requires us to notify parents of this school activity. The MNSS is conducted in schools across our state every three years.

Questions on the survey are about many topics relating to young people's lives. The survey asks about how well school is going, future plans, out-of-school activities, physical and mental health, relationships, substance use and more. This useful information about their thoughts and behaviors helps communities and schools develop effective programs and provide better services.

You have the right to review a copy of the survey. For details on how to do this please contact Tricia Johnson.

This survey is anonymous. To prevent individuals or families from being identified, students do not provide their names, student identification numbers, or other personal information.

This survey is voluntary. You may choose to have your child not take the survey by completing and returning the form below to the school office. Students may also decline to take any part of the survey or the whole survey. They are informed of this option by staff.

If you do not want your child to take the Minnesota Student Survey, please return the form below to Tricia Johnson, School Social Worker by Monday, February 7.

The Triton Girls Basketball Team will be hosting a Shooting for a Cure fundraiser to raise money to fight cancer at their home game vs. JWP on Friday, February 4th.

We are planning a "Pink Out" and a silent auction.

If anyone would like to donate a silent auction item, please contact Laurie Essig lessig@triton.k12.mn.us or bring donation to the Elementary Office and will get them to the team.

Shooting For A Cure Team

If we have to cancel school due to inclement weather again we will send out learning activities for our students by 10 AM the day of. Teachers have created bingo boards and other fun activities for the students to engage in at home.

We celebrated our paraprofessionals last week and would like to thank TEAM for the amazing gifts that were handed out. Paraprofessionals are key components to the daily operations of our school and we could not ask for a better group to work with our students!
