Spring Break is coming up, March 8th - March 12. Friday, March 5th will also be an early release.
During the break, please encourage your student to put their Chromebook on the charger in a safe, out-of-the-way place for safe keeping. Also, please remind them the Chromebook is for educational use only, even over the break.

Benchmarks!
We will begin benchmarking this month for 7th grade Writing and all grades for Math and Reading. Teachers will be using results from this marker to determine which students need additional help during class or with after school tutorials. Benchmark scores will determine who needs mandatory tutoring 4 to 6 weeks before the STAAR test. Please encourage your students to do the best they can and demonstrate all they have learned so far this year.
Here are some tips to help your student do their best on these and all upcoming tests:
Talk about the test positively - this is an opportunity to show what they have learned, not a punishment.
Help reduce test day stress by preparing the night before. Make the morning go easier by already have supplies, clothes, lunches ready to go so everyone has a calm morning.
Get some sleep. Students need to be well rested to get through standardized testing. Help them wrap up and unplug early the night before a test.
Feed them! The tests are really long and hungry kids have a hard time focusing on the material. Peppermints are the only snacks allowed during the test.
Most students will be testing using their Chromebooks - please be sure their devices are with them and fully charged for test day and every day.
