The entire staff hopes that our Hay Lakes families had a wonderful winter break and that you were able to find time to rest and relax! As we begin January, we have a very busy month ahead for all of our students!
Academically, we are nearing the end of the semester. For our Senior High students, this means final assessments and Diploma exams for our students taking 30-level courses. Students will write their Social Diploma Part A on January 13th. All Senior High parents will be sent a full schedule for final assessments this week. For our elementary and junior high students, the end of January will mark the end of the first semester as well, which means all students will receive report cards on February 3rd.
Our basketball seasons are in full swing for both our Junior and Senior High students. All four teams played in tournaments this weekend. There are a few more tournaments and league games in the month of January, so check the calendar on the website to find times. Thank you to all the coaches for volunteering their time to help these teams be possible!
As we begin the second half of the school year, we want to continue to encourage parents and guardians to reach out to the school at any time. Education requires a team approach, and parents, teachers, and the school need to work together to do the best for each child that walks through the doors of Hay Lakes School. Our team of teachers and support staff is here to help and support parents in any way that we can.
I have really enjoyed getting to know the students and parents at Hay Lakes School during the first months of this year, and I hope to continue to get to know more parents as we move through the school year.
