Principal's Message
Hello, WHE Families! Thank you for a great first week! Our students and teachers have worked hard to build relationships, learn school routines and procedures, and have fun each day!
Please make sure you take a few minutes to read our Woody's Wrap Up each week. This newsletter contains important campus information, and is sent home each Friday. Your child's teacher will also send grade level/class specific information through email and newsletters.

Arrival & Dismissal Procedures
Thank you for showing patience and grace during the first few weeks of school as students and parents learn our WHE Arrival & Dismissal procedures. We cut down our time each day this week, which is the goal!! Our system really does work well if everyone follows the process and traffic flow. Be sure to take a few minutes to read over the WHE Arrival & Dismissal Processes below, look over the traffic patterns on the maps and ask questions for clarification as needed. Please remember that we do not turn left into the front or back parking lots. When that happens, the lines on the street back up. We appreciate your cooperation and assistance in keeping everyone safe.
IS YOUR CHILD A BIKE RIDER?
Due to ongoing HVAC work near the pavilion & map area, we have installed temporary bike racks outside of door 6 near the Plum Valley Playground & Back Parking Lot. Please have students use these bike racks until the map area is cleared of workers. Please be sure to bring a lock for bikes, as this area is not fenced in and is unattended throughout the school day. WHE is not responsible for bikes left unlocked during the day. We appreciate your flexibility! Please complete your Annual Update ASAP!
Parents & guardians of returning Humble ISD students must complete Annual Update at the beginning of each school year. As part of the Annual Update application you will need to upload current proof of residency. Additional information about the Annual Update process can be found on the Humble ISD Annual Update webpage..
NOTE: A PARENT/GUARDIAN (NOT student) HAC account is required to access Annual Update and update student registration information. **Only 'Living With' guardians can access and submit the Annual Update. Please contact our registrar, Carrie Quinn, if you are unable to access the Annual Update.
Clinic News!
Hello WHE family! My name is Lindsey Ferrell and I am so excited to be the School Nurse at WHE this year and for many years to come. I have been a Registered Nurse for 14 years with the past 5 years as the nurse at another campus in Humble ISD. My husband and I have two small children and I can promise that I will care for your children the same as I would my own. I wanted to provide some information to make the beginning of the school year a little smoother.
All students enrolling or previously enrolled must have up to date immunizations. ALL IMMUNIZATION RECORDS, when turned in (including electronic My Chart records), must be signed or stamped by the physician or his/her designee or public health personnel. We are unable to accept records that are not signed or stamped. Immunization requirements for elementary can be found here.
If your student requires medication at school (scheduled or as needed) please reference the Nurse section on the WHE website or see the following links. Medications given at school require an up to date Permission to Administer Medication Form that must be completed by parent and most of the time a physician. If your student has adrenal insufficiency, asthma, allergies/life threatening food allergies, diabetes or seizures there are additional forms to complete. All medication must be delivered/picked up by a parent or guardian. Medications are not allowed to be transported by students. It is helpful for the medications (in their original, labeled packaging) and completed documentation to be delivered to the nurse prior to the first day of school. This gives an opportunity for the parent/guardian and nurse to go over specific information and make sure all necessary information is complete. Please reach out to me to set up a time to deliver medications and documentation!
I look forward to supporting the students, families and staff at Woodland Hills Elementary!
