Upcoming festivities for Halloween
Cher parents;
We hope you're as excited as we are for Halloween! We wanted to provide some important details for the upcoming festivities on October 31st:
1. Please ensure that your child comes to school fully dressed in costume. (makeup, hair & costume etc..) We can't wait to see their creative and spooky outfits!
2. For safety reasons, we kindly request that no toy weapons be brought to school or on the bus as part of their costumes.
3. The morning will be reserved for regular programming. Meanwhile the afternoon we'll be having a fantastic dance party parade for the kids.
4. To make the day extra special, we ask that you send an individual treat for just your child to enjoy. (Please note our new Food & Nutrition Policy. Click here to view policy: AP168)
Thank you for your cooperation, and we look forward to a spooktacular Halloween celebration at school!

Read-In Week: October 16-20, 2023
Dear ÉPK Families,
We all lead such busy lives and at times can forget to pause and do something as simple as curl up with a good book. During the week of October 16-20th, ÉPK staff and students will be participating in various activities to celebrate Read-In Week. Our daily sustained silent reading time (SSR) will continue in our classrooms but might look a little different to include some fun and enthusiasm. Stay tuned for more details!
We are also encouraging guests to come and celebrate their love of reading with us! Parents, guardians & community members are invited to share a book that was or is currently special to them, or can also choose to read one from our wonderful selection in our school library. If you are interested in participating, please contact your child’s classroom teacher to set up a time and date that works best.
We look forward to seeing many of you and listening to your stories. Happy reading!
Thank you for your participation,
ÉPK Read-In Week Committee

Message from Mme Heather Corbin

If you are willing to run the book fair on a conference night (Nov. 1st or 2nd) or during part of the day when she is at the other school (needed Monday/Tuesday at EPK & Thursday/Friday at OLPH), please contact her at heatherc@eics.ab.ca. She will give more information, training and guidance to anyone interested in helping out.
