The Walker Talker
Walker Career Center weekly update - December 4, 2020
Mouse Trap Derby
Prior to Thanksgiving, students in Intro to Transportation had a good time trying out their Mouse Trap cars. Great job by Mr. Griffin on finding a use for some old CD's!
Time to bundle up for winter
Fashion and Textiles was able to spend their last few warm days in November preparing for this cold weather by making their own fleece sweaters and quilts.
Cosmetology gets opportunity to enhance their nails
Our Cosmetology team is continuing to power through in-person instruction and was able to spend the week learning about nail enhancements with fiberglass wrap.
Sometimes Laughter is the Best Medicine
Mrs. West was able to spend some time with her Health Careers team playing some good old fashion OPERATION prior to thanksgiving break. Always great to see how much this group enjoys being around one another. Our Health Careers program is continuing to prepare for their state exams by working in the labs and complete clinical hours.
Things are heating up in Welding
Mr. Vitatoe is proving that he is more than just a guy that can decorate his door. Seen below, he is demonstrating a new welding technique with one of his year one students as our welding students are continuing to run in person classes. In addition to working with our year one and two welding students, Mr. Vitatoe also works with our Adult Education team where he recently had 5 individuals gain industry certification credentials.
Tooth be told, this group is pretty impressive
Our Dental Career students are continuing to prepare for their second semester clinical placements by utilizing our amazing Dental Careers lab.
Sometimes you need a face lift
Now that our elevator has received a face lift, it is making its long awaited debut in The Walker Talker. Thanks to Skinny Dog Graphics on the amazing wrap!
