The Mustang Messenger
December 2nd, 2022
Greetings Mustang Families!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and holiday break. Thank you all of the generous parents who volunteered at our Book Fair in our library this week and at our student store on Wednesday.
There are only two short weeks left in the semester before we are off again for winter break. I hope everyone is able to stay healthy during that time. If your student is sick, please contact the attendance office and have your student email their teachers and access their work on Google Classroom.
Be well,
Catherine Nicholas, Ed.D.

Kindness Month Recap from Ana Mathers
As Kindness month comes to an end, I just want to share some pictures (attached) of our wonderful students enjoying the Wellness Center Activities. Even though Kindness month is over, the main message behind this month was to make kindness the norm, and to "Be the I in Kind"
In case you missed the Be the I in Kind Video picture slideshow, here is the link :-)

COVID Reminder from our District's COVID Coordinator, Matt Hinze
Each day before coming to school or work, evaluate your own symptoms and take steps to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. If you are sick with COVID-19 or think you might have COVID-19, follow the steps below to help protect other people in your home and community.
People with COVID-19 have had a wide range of symptoms ranging from mild to severe illness. Some people with COVID-19 have no symptoms. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus but it may not be possible to know when or how a person got infected. People with these symptoms may have COVID-19:
- Fever or chills
- Cough
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Fatigue
- Muscle or body aches
- Headache
- New loss of taste or smell
- Sore throat
- Congestion or runny nose
- Nausea or vomiting
- Diarrhea
This list does not include all possible symptoms. Older adults and people who have severe underlying medical conditions like heart or lung disease or diabetes seem to be at higher risk for developing more serious complications from COVID-19 illness.
If you have symptoms of COVID-19, regardless of vaccination status, get a COVID-19 test right away and stay home. For information on how to get a COVID-19 test, visit ph.lacounty.com/covidtests/how or contact your medical provider. COVID tests are also available at school.
If you test positive for COVID-19 or a doctor tells you that you have COVID-19, you must follow the Home Isolation Instructions (ph.lacounty.gov/covidisolation).
If you test negative for COVID-19 or your provider tells you that you don’t have COVID-19, stay home until you have been fever-free without the help of fever-reducing medicines for at least 24 hours.
If you are a close contact to someone with COVID-19 and you have no symptoms, you do not need to quarantine. You are required to wear a highly protective mask around others for 10 days, get tested 3-5 days after the exposure, and monitor their health for 10 days. Refer to Instructions for Close Contacts (ph.lacounty.gov/covidquarantine) for the most up-to-date information.
For more information regarding how to stay safe and healthy or how to get vaccinated, visit the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health’s COVID-19 Homepage (publichealth.lacounty.gov/media/Coronavirus/).
Lost and Found
We will have all items here until the last day of the semester. If not picked up by then it will be donated to a local charity.
