A Note from Dr. Neubeck
Welcome to the 2023-24 School Year. Even though we have had tons of construction happening around the district, with some of it to be finished throughout the year, we are ready for our students, staff and families to come back to school. Seeing the Fall sports practicing and having the new staff in last week for an orientation, has brought a new energy around our campuses.
I could go on and on thanking individual people for their hard work toward making our construction project a success. However, I know I would feel bad if I missed anyone. Besides, we are a community and each one of us have probably had some part in making these projects come true either by doing some actual work, donating money as a sponsor, or just supporting us throughout the process. As we stated earlier, these facilities are going to be great for our student experience and will be places that will bring our community together. It has been a lot of hard work, with some more to do, but seeing what is being constructed, makes all of the sleepless nights worth it.
Not only have these businesses signed on for our 5 year sponsorship packages, we are starting to secure businesses for naming rights of our facilities. The Byron Athletic Stadium will remain with that name due to an anonymous donor; however, our gym will be named the Scheels Gymnasium at Byron High School. We are excited about our partnership with Scheels. The majority of the money that we collect from these partnerships will go into an account to be used for future renovation as these new fields grow older; with the hope to avoid large asks from our residents in the future.
Last year, we completed our 5th year with the Profile of a Graduate as our academic direction. We sent our survey last year to many people and our leadership team has been analyzing those results this summer. This year will be a "learning" year for us as we look to make improvements to the Profile of a Graduate in order to use it as our next 5 year academic plan. Byron is a great place academically for students and we want to make it better. We will be seeking further input and we appreciate your help in this process.
I hope you and your family have a great school year. Thank you for being a part of our District.
Go Bears!

POG C's in Action
The Profile of a Graduate is the model we use to live out the District's Strategic Plan on a daily basis. It has been 6 years since we first implemented the Profile of a Graduate and we continue to find ways to teach the six Cs: Creativity, Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, Citizenship, and Character.

Construction Update
The construction plans continue to move forward and it will be great to watch our facilities transform over the next 18 months. It is exciting to see the progress and to think about what great facilities we will soon have for our students and our community. Please check out our webcam at https://app.oxblue.com/open/knutson/byronhsathletics and watch the time lapse pictures. We are so appreciative of the community's support.
