Welcome back to Term 2

Hi Team

It is my intention to send out a Central Taranaki Kahui Ako Panui each month. This will update everyone in our Kahui Ako about what has been occuring and what is planned. It will be sent as a PDF for ease of access. Please share this with your staff, Board of Trustees and community where appropriate. I will be asking our Across School Teachers and or Principals to contribute to the content of this. Any feedback gratefully received.

KEY LEADERSHIP TEAM

This group consists of Key Principals/ECE Principals/Head Teachers. This group meet every fortnight on Wednesdays from 8.30 - 9.30.

At present this group consists of the following: Kim Waite, Graham Sands, Jason Elder, Fiona Green, Phil Kennan, Megan England, Seraya Hughes.

The role of the Key Leadership Team is to:

Developing and updating (when required) the Achievement Challenge Plan that is focused on the needs of the learners.
Developing an Implementation Plan so the targets in the Achievement Challenge Plan can be achieved.
Through an on-going plan of monitoring and review, support the Kahui Ako to build its effectiveness, including the capacity to operate responsively to community needs.

OUTGOING LEAD PRINCIPAL

A big thank you to Jan Westfield, Rawhitiroa School for her hard work and dedication to the set up phase of our Kahui Ako. We all really appreacite the time, effort and input she put into her role.

TEACHER ONLY DAY - Friday 8th March

On the above date we held our first ever Kahui Ako Teacher Only Day. Teachers from ECE, Primary and Secondary attended this day of sharing and collaboration.

ACHIEVEMENT CHALLENGE REVIEW

This is happening on TUESDAY 21ST MAY - 9.00 - 3.00. Can you please rsvp your attendance via the calendar invite. Mary Anne Mills - Core Education will be facilitating this piece of work.

EMERGING LEADERS

We are in our second year of offering the above programme. This year this will be lead by Kathe Tawhiwhirangi from Core Education.

Goals:

To develop leadership capacity across our Kahui Ako.

Leaders and potential leaders to have the tools to meet the demands of leadership.

We are pelased to say that we have 17 participants from across our Early Childhood, Primary & Secondary schools.

EARLY CHILDHOOD & JUNIOR TEACHER PLD

Purpose: To provide support to Central Taranaki Kāhui Ako around transition pathways to school and kura, in particular understanding the connections between Te Whāriki and New Zealand Curriculum.

Sarah Whiting from Core Education will be delivering this.

To date we have 12 teachers from Primary and ECE registered for this. We are still taking names so if you would like staff to participate please email: principal@toko.school.nz
