Principal's Message

Dear Sierra Families,

A big thanks to everyone who had Chipotle this week...our school raised $995 for student enrichment funds!

As a reminder, students are allowed to wear costumes on Monday. We do expect the following costume guidelines: No masks, nothing scary or gory, no weapons or props, no inflatable costumes (like the giant T-Rex), and all costumes must meet our dress guidelines. If you have specific questions, please reach out to your child's teacher.

We have had a number of students out ill over the past few weeks with a flu and/or stomach virus. Please keep your child home if they are sick, and once they are symptom free for 24 hours, they are welcome to return to school. Attached is a letter with more information from our district nurse.

We can't wait to see everyone at Carnival this Saturday, from 3:30-6:00pm.

Picture Information

Picture re-takes for any absent student or staff will be Wednesday, Nov. 2nd. Additionally, if you would like to have your child's photo redone, please return your entire photo package to have re-takes done. We also have our whole school photo that morning, so please make sure to be on time.

Library News

Hello Dragons!

Our Fall Scholastic Book Fair has arrived!! I am so excited because we have so many cool books for sale. Please stop by during the Fall carnival to shop with your kiddos. The library will be open Saturday 3:30-6pm during the carnival, Monday 8:30-2:30, and Tuesday-Friday 8:30-3:30. Be sure to set up an e-wallet so your kiddo doesn’t have to carry cash to school. Any money left on the e-wallet can also be spent shopping online. Thank you for helping to make this book fair a success! Remember, good things happen when you read!

Hammer Headlines

This is the last week of football skills. Primary students are using small nerf footballs and practicing throwing to a partner and catching. We continue to do the skillastic workouts, parachute, fishy fishy, red light green light, and duck duck goose.

Third to fifth grade students are catching and throwing a choice of either foam nerf football, junior football, or intermediate football. Each football has a different weight and size. I leave it up to each student pair to decide their level of challenge. Along with the skillastic workouts students are also playing bulldog, capture the flag, and flag football for their final activity.
