The celebration will feature keynote speaker Dr. Jason Best, from Shepherd University, and a dramatic rendition of Dr. King’s “I Have a Dream” speech, performed by the Reverend Darin Mency. The event will include music and dance performances and poetry readings by HCC students. Event free and open to the public. Craving soup, sandwiches, or salads? If so, come support the Boonsboro Student Government at PANERA - yes, Panera! - this coming Monday evening, January 9th, from 6-9PM. Part of the night's earnings will go directly to SGA, an organization that works to benefit our school and community. Did we mention that it's at Panera? Hope to see you on Monday night!

14th Annual Polar Bear Plunge
The Humane Society of Washington County is looking for volunteers to participate in this annual event on January 14th at Greenbrier State Park. Volunteers will need to visit www.hswcmd.org to register to participate in the event as well as download the forms for collecting donations. All proceeds will benefit the Humane Society of Washington County.
IceWatch USA
IceWatch USA is seeking volunteers to assist with observations in the local area. All you need to do it choose a location over the winter such as a lake, river or pond and record your observations. You then report your observations back with the interested scientists via email. Applications are online at www.natureabounds.org/Online_Access.html. Volunteers are needed to help with various programs and activities with the residents at the facility. Please call 301-766-0066 if you would like to volunteer.
Hagerstown Ice and Sports Complex
Volunteers are needed to help with the Learn to Skate programs, Learn to Play Hockey programs and assist with skate rentals during public sessions. Please call 301-766-9122 Ext 302 if you are interested in volunteering.
