Inspired Learning Day Donations Needed
Dear Parents and Guardians,
The staff at Miscoe Hill Middle School are excited to offer this Inspired Learning Day to our students Wednesday, February 16. In order to make this day happen, we are asking for your support with a donation of resources as described in this sign up genius by Tuesday, February 8th, 2022. All donations can be dropped off at the Miscoe Hill office so we can sort and organize in time for the Inspired Learning Day in a few weeks.
Items do NOT have to be new or in original packaging, so feel free to clean out your closets :)
As always, we truly appreciate your generosity!
Thank you!
Miscoe Staff

Minding Your Mind
Tomorrow the Minding Your Mind organization will be sending in a speaker to present to the 7th and 8th graders. Minding Your Mind is an organization dedicated to ending stigma and destructive behaviors caused by mental health issues. Through speakers and storytelling, the program opens up communication to discuss signs and symptoms of mental health problems and how to address them.
Each grade level will have their own presentation time and COVID safety protocols will be in place according to the district's safety guidelines. Our speaker will be Wes, and his bio link can be found below. Our counseling department will be prepared to support any students in need following the presentations. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.
Should you choose not to have your child participate in this offering, please email me directly. An alternative activity and location will be provided.
Thanks,
Sara Higgins

Expedition to the Andes and Amazon Rainforest- April 2023
Miss Holloway is once again leading an expedition to the Andes and Amazon Rainforest for Miscoe Hill students and parents! This incredible travel opportunity sold out (at 80 people!) in less than a week our very first year, and was a phenomenal experience for all travelers!
Highlights of the trip include: standing on the equator, hiking through the Amazon Rainforest, river tubing, a waterfall excursion, visiting an animal rescue center, white water rafting, zip-lining through the jungle, visiting with the indigenous Kichwa people, soaking in thermal hot springs, volunteering at a local school, and SO MUCH MORE!
Students that are currently in the 6th and 7th grade are eligible to attend. We will be traveling over the April 2023 School Vacation. Easy monthly payment plans, fundraising opportunities, and scholarships are available to help make this trip accessible for all!
Families will be able to sign up on a first-come, first-served basis. Students will NOT be notified if they are enrolled, so consider giving the gift of travel this holiday season and surprise your child with the adventure of a lifetime!
Please direct any questions to Miss Holloway at lholloway@mursd.org.
