Google Slides

Tech Tribe Badge Challenges allow teachers the opportunity to learn and integrate tech tools in their classrooms. Completing the challenge for a tech tool makes teachers eligible for a "Tech Tribe" badge for their work. Badges can be proudly displayed by their classroom door to let everyone know how fabulous they are at integrating technology! Teachers work hard at their own pace to complete Challenges such as Google Classroom, Google Drive, Poll Everywhere, Nearpod, Pear Deck, Plickers, Digital Citizenship, and many more. Once you have completed the challenge, complete a Badge Form to receive a Tech Tribe Badge as a reward and recognition for your commitment to moving our students toward college and career readiness.

Google Slides is an online presentation program incorporating the basic features of Microsoft PowerPoint or Apple Keynote, but adding real-time collaboration and sharing options that make it a great classroom tool.

• Create presentations and share them with your students or colleagues, choosing whether they can edit, just comment on it, or only view it.
  
• Students can create presentations individually, collaborate with classmates on a presentation in real-time, and/or share them with you for review.
• Eliminate compatibility frustrations caused by differences in software programs and devices. Everyone can use Google Slides.
• Access from any internet-capable device any time.
• Ensure all collaborators are doing their part by referencing the revision history of the presentation.

• Make presentation creation more efficient with built-in tools for adding images, videos, content from the web, etc.

• Automatically links content to source url for attribution and aids in citing sources.

The educator will create a Google Slides presentation to use for a lesson, and have students create and collaborate on a Google Slides presentation.

1. Decide on the learning target/objective that will be accomplished by students creating a Google Slide presentation.

2. Instruct students (in groups of 2 or more) to create and collaborate on a Google Slides presentation.

1. Share and submit the link to a Google Slides presentation that you have used in your classroom this year.

2. After your students have completed the collaborative project in Google Slides, share one or more of the links to student projects on the badge request form.

3. Write a brief reflection about what the students learned from the experience. Be sure to include any successes or frustrations encountered by you and/or your students.
