Principal Weekly Update
2023-2024
November 23, 2023 - Principal Message
Parents and Families,
We're approaching the end of the quarter, and we're already halfway through the first semester! I strongly encourage both students and parents to review their grades and motivate students to finish the semester on a positive and successful note.
For parents who drop off and pick up their children, carpooling has been smoother this year. However, I have a small request. Please refrain from dropping off in the bus loop and avoid parking in the student lot while waiting for your children. This is essential for the safety of our students.
We've observed a slight increase in minor behavioral issues and tardiness. Students have received reminders about our expectations, especially during class transitions and after-school activities.
STAFF SPOTLIGHT!!!!
Mr. Robert Davis has been an overall asset to the Rolesville High School community. Not only does he have high expectations for his English class but the players he coaches after school exude high discipline as well. "We are Smart Rams!"
Ms. Stogner She is not only an exceptional teacher but also a dedicated individual who goes the extra mile both inside and outside of the classroom to enhance the quality of Rolesville HS. She actively champions the well-being of students and staff, constantly seeking opportunities to uplift the morale of both.
Mr. Mayer's classroom is a safe space for students that includes flexible seating, structured lesson plans and beautiful music. Mr. Mayer is exceedingly qualified in musical pedagogy and vocal instruction. Mr. Mayer is kind, respectful and all of his students respect him and one another.
There has been a slight uptick in minor behaviors and tardies. Students have been reminded of expectations (in particular during class transitions and after school).
Class of 2024 Senior Portraits

All seniors must have their portrait taken by November 15th to be included in the 2023-2024 yearbook. Contact Yearbook Adviser Rebecca Hatcher at rhatcher@wcpss.net with any questions or with any financial concerns.

Bag Policy for Athletics
Beginning last week, RHS and many other high schools in Wake County started a clear bag policy. Please know that this is only one safety measure we are putting in place to help with keeping our students, staff, and visitors safe. This information is also on the Go Fan page when tickets are being purchased.
Student Parking
If you have a student who drives to school, please ensure that they have a valid parking pass and encourage them to park in the designated area. Students who park on campus without the required parking permit will be subject to towing. New signs have been placed on campus indicating where towed vehicles can be retrieved. It's important to note that the cost of towing will be the responsibility of the vehicle owner.
Student Dress Code
A friendly reminder to all students to adhere to the dress code on a daily basis. Please refrain from wearing clothing that is excessively short or revealing of private areas. Additionally, avoid wearing headgear or sunglasses inside the building. If a student is found to be in violation of the dress code, they will be asked to make the necessary corrections.

If you (guardian/parent) and your student feel that your student would benefit from this group, please contact your student's school counselor before November 2nd, 2023. Your responses will be kept confidential within the RHS Student Services office. We will use guardian/parent referrals to help populate our group.
