Hello Walker Families & Partners,
Kindness Week is here! Next week, millions of students will join together to celebrate kindness, demonstrate compassion, extend their gratitude and put their LOVE into action in so many uplifting ways! We can't wait for our Wildcats to join this challenge. The official 2023 Great Kindness Challenge Kickoff video is linked below. The theme this year is, "Let's Grow Kindness!" We will be having dress up days for each day next week.
- Monday, January 23 - Dream of Kindness (wear comfy clothes)
- Tuesday, January 24 - Kindness for the Decades (Dress in your favorite decade)
- Wednesday, January 25 - Peace Love and Kindness (Bring your favorite stuffed animal)
- Thursday, January 26 - Don't put your back on kindness ( Wear clothes backwards)
- Friday, January 27 - 100 Days of kindness ( (Celebrate the 100th Day of school)
Did you know that we have a grant funded after school program happening three days a week at Walker? Our program is called Roar and happens on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 3:15-5:30. During this time, students have a snack and club like opportunities to learn and grow while having fun with others. At 5:00 our program provides a dinner made by our cafeteria staff. We offer bus services to our many of our regular stops. For more information or to sign your child up, please email our director, Blaire Bayham (bbayham@sdale.org) or send a text to Mrs. Bayham at 479-721-9021.
Did you know your child has access to our on-line library from home?
The Lightbox Learning Classroom Solutions are web-based products that have everything you need to help your child discover the joy of learning. Each digital title comes packed with unique, fully integrated multimedia features, including embedded videos, slideshows, and curated weblinks. High-quality audio narration helps students improve literacy. Please help your child read books on devices at home. Time spent reading will help your child learn to read and to read to learn!
