Football Hall of Fame Honorees

Congratulations to Bob Baker, Al Bauman, and Jordan Tibbits who will be inducted into the #PointerNation Football Hall of Fame Friday, August 18 at the home football game vs. Lancaster! Front Runner Honored

Only four school communicators in the United States and Canada have been named Front Runners by the National School Public Relations Association for the 2022-23 school year and we have one of them! Congrats to Joëlle Doye on being selected from 2800 members and receiving this prestigious honor at the National Seminar in St. Louis in July. NSPRA Front Runners are members identified by the NSPRA Executive Board as emerging leaders who are doing outstanding work for their schools, their state chapters, and for NSPRA. She is pictured with NSPRA President-Elect Trent Allen of California. (Thank you to the Wisconsin School Public Relations Association for financially sponsoring her attendance)

Mother Goose Returns

To wrap up summer school, Mother Goose returned to Kindergarten to watch the students act out some of her rhymes! They all received an award saying they learned their rhymes and a “smartie” for all those smart sweeties! She especially loved it when Wee Willie Winkie made them all fall asleep! Kindergarten is so much fun! We made lots of crafts, wrote in our journals each day, and acted out rhymes!

Online Registration Due Aug. 11

A reminder -- #PointerNation Online Registration is open for the 2023-24 School Year and is MUST be completed by this Friday, August 11! -- More registration details can be found here: Please note: https://mineralpointschools.org/2023/07/registration-2023-24-2/

1. Student demographic information must be filled out online in Skyward Family Access.

2. There will be no in-person registration day. All fees can be paid through Fee Management which can be accessed via Skyward > Family Access under Quick Links and Lunch/School Fees. You can still drop payment off at school, if you'd prefer to not pay online. Athletic fees need to be paid before the first practice or students are not allowed to participate. ALL fees need to be paid before the first game or they are ineligible. (New this year).

3. Any Parent/Guardian with a student who is NEW to the district and has not yet enrolled, should stop by Elementary at 611 Cothern to complete registration forms.

4. All students will complete a transportation form within online registration. If you have any questions regarding busing, contact the First Student, Inc. with questions at 608-987-3911.

5. K-5th grade families with full-time enrolled students may also complete the Before & After School Care Kids Club Interest Form (do not send money at this time for these fees as we are still searching for staffing): https://forms.gle/a2A7ryse1SauC9ix5

Pointer Kids Club Interest Form

Pointer Kids Club is being designed to provide a safe, interactive, and fun environment for Mineral Point students before and after school, outside of the traditional school day. The Pointer Kids Club is looking to hire a Director and two Assistants. Any student enrolled full-time (K-5) in the Mineral Point Unified School District will be eligible to enroll. Please fill out the form below for each child you are interested in enrolling. FILLING OUT THIS FORM DOES NOT GUARANTEE PARTICIPATION IN THE PROGRAM. Please stay tuned for more information as it becomes available. Free & Reduced Meals

Children need healthy meals to learn. Mineral Point Unified School District offers healthy meals every school day. Please apply for Free or Reduced meals to help ensure all children are at their best each day! A new form must be filled out each school year for those who meet income eligibility guidelines. With school supply lists being distributed, and back to school supplies available in stores, please remember that if your family needs help with supplies, we have many community partners that have generously provided donations to the district. Kind Kids Campaign

A big congrats to Denise Gorgen who is one of this year's grant recipients from the Mineral Point Community and Excellence in Education Endowment Funds! Her "Kind Kids Campaign" project received $1,265 from the Mineral Point EIE Fund to purchase supplies to support this program focused on the importance of spreading kindness throughout our school and community while helping students discover the power of positivity and develop a gracious attitude. Wonder in Nature & Collaboration and Connection

A big congrats to Keri Radtke who is one of this year's grant recipients from the Mineral Point Community and Excellence in Education Endowment Funds! Her "Wonder in Nature" project received $395 from the Don Hawkins Community Oak Savanna Endowment Fund to provide supplies and books for 2nd graders who will create Wonder Projects about the nature observed in the oak savanna. Her "Collaboration and Connection" project received $450 from the Mineral Point EIE Fund to purchase materials needed to create collaborative work spaces for students. Multi Sensory Room

A big congrats to Jodi Renwick who is one of this year's grant recipients from the Mineral Point Community and Excellence in Education Endowment Funds! Her "Multi Sensory Room" project received $500 from the Burnell and Vivian Wang Excellence in Education Fund, and Mineral Point EIE Fund, to create a sensory and break space for all students to directly impact overall learning, social-emotional, and behavioral health. A big congrats to Kristin Staver who is one of this year's grant recipients from the Mineral Point Community and Excellence in Education Endowment Funds! Her "Pointer Media Livestream" project received $1,287 from the Larry and Mary Faith Argall Family Community Endowed Fund, and the Mineral Point Community Fund, to purchase new cameras for livestreaming. Grants support educational programming outside of the boundaries of the school district budget. Before & After School Program

A big congrats to the Mineral Point Unified School District who is one of this year's grant recipients from the Mineral Point Community and Excellence in Education Endowment Funds! Their "Elementary Before & After School Program" project received $15,000 from the Mineral Point Community Fund, and Raymond and Bonnie Nortman Family Fund, to support the soon-to-launch before and after school care program.
