📚👋 2022 Book Club
Who will join me for the LW's first annual 2022 Book Club from Growing Book by Book?!
This Family Dinner Book Club is in it's 8th year. Each year 12 books are selected that revolve around a theme. This blog (Growing Book by Book) teams up with Sarah from Chef Sarah Elizabeth who provides a themed menu around the featured book and Laura from Sunny Day Family who shares an activity around the theme.
This year's theme is social emotional learning. I immediately thought how fun would this be to do as a school? Each month, I will do a Live ZOOM reading of the featured book and highlight the meal/activities the blog provides. The Book Club is here when and if you need it. Feel free to join in on the fun every month or the months that work best for you. The best part is this book club is for any and all ages and will provide a springboard for conversations about recognizing feelings, celebrating individuality, sharing kindness, making healthy choices, overcoming challenges, developing empathy, understanding different perspectives and so much more.
Check out the book line up for the year here: https://growingbookbybook.com/2022-family-dinner-book-club/
*You can sign up through the blog to receive updates and activities based around each book

🚗 Arrival
We have been working on ways to make our arrival even more safe for everyone involved. Tomorrow morning you will now see cones that are blocking off a drop off lane (see image below: as you look at the picture the drop off lane is to the right of the cones closest to the school).
Once you are in the drop off lane, please stay in the drop off lane so we can ensure those crossing the parking lot are safe. You will also want to make sure to pull all the way up in order to be as close to the first cone before letting your child out. This will hopefully help with the flow of traffic. Make sure to also look for people that may be crossing from the parking lot.
We appreciate your understanding and flexibility as this procedures continues to evolve as safety is one of our number priorities.
With the winter weather here, students will now be going into the gym via the main doors. Look for Mrs. Pitzer to come out under the awning before letting your students out.
