LMS Family Update
October 16, 2023
Greetings Lockerman Families,
Cooler temperatures have arrived and we are looking forward to all things fall here at LMS! All of the details about our first dance can be found below. Please note students can not have any unexcused absences or major discipline referrals from 10/16-10/27 in order to attend. As always, if your student has to miss school, please be sure to send in a note documenting the reason for their absence. You can also email notes directly to Mrs. Nesselroad at nesselroad.jennifer@ccpsstaff.org. Cooler temperatures also mean we are seeing an increase of students bringing blankets to school. Students are not permitted to carry blankets throughout the school. Please have them keep their blankets at home. Car riders and walkers arriving between 7:15 and 7:30 can stay warm in the cafeteria in the morning while waiting for the bell to ring.
Fall picture order forms went home last week. Online ordering information can also be found below.
Another favorite fall activity: football! Please remember that any middle school student attending the varsity football games at NCHS must be accompanied by an adult.
Finally, over the next week, English/Language Arts and Math iReady reports are going home with students. Teachers will be reviewing this data with students prior to the reports coming home. Please review this data with your child as we work together to have a successful 23-24 school year.
Please reach out to any LMS staff member if we can be of assistance.

LMS PTA
Thank you to everyone that came to our first public meeting on the 20th! Our minutes from the meeting will be going up on our PTA website along with the slide show Mr. Gibbons presented about service learning. We are excited to get this year started and even more excited to start working with the community and the kids. Our first fundraiser will be our Fall Trot that will be happening in October. Information was sent home last week and is also available on our website. Details can be found below. Don’t forget that your membership to the PTA is also an easy fundraiser for us. We don’t expect you to do anything but if you do want to volunteer at any time, just reach out to us. Mark your calendar for November 13th for our next meeting!
Lockerman is Trotting into Fall!
On October 19th, each student will be trotting out on the track! Each grade will walk, run, jog, skip, hop, etc. for 30 minutes. Help support the students by making a donation of whatever you can give. Your donations will be helping the PTA get things started for the year with teacher appreciation, school dances, field day, and a few other things we have in the works. We will be accepting cash (and coins!) and checks (made payable to Lockerman PTA). We also have a QR code on the collection envelope that can be scanned and anyone can donate online!
PRIZES
Any student who raises $2 will receive a bracelet from the PTA!
Any student who raises $6 will receive a coupon for KONA ICE and a bracelet!
The homeroom from each grade that raises the most money will receive donuts for breakfast!
***Homerooms must raise at least $75 to qualify for donuts***
Anyone can donate (family members, friends, neighbors, etc.) and any amount is appreciated. Flip over those couch cushions! Look under those seats in your cars! Help us start out this school year right!
