Future Board Members
As we start the new year, we have some great ideas for the PTO and how we can continue to enrich the Discovery community, but the success of the PTO is only possible with wonderful volunteers. If you have any interest in volunteering for specific events or getting involved with the board, we would love to hear from you. One of the possibilities we have discussed for the 2024-2025 year is a co-president position if anyone is interested in PTO leadership as next year will be President Wratz’s last year before her daughter moves on to middle school. This would be a way to make the transition as seamless as possible so that it wouldn’t be as daunting for anyone new to the board. If this sounds like something you would like to explore, please send us an email!

Funds in Action: Staff Classroom Enrichment Proposals
The Discovery PTO has funds allocated to be used for Staff Classroom Enrichment Proposals during the school year. Any staff member that engages with students can submit a proposal.
In October, Discovery third graders attended a special presentation by the Great Plains Zoo’s ZooMobile featuring creepy, spooky, and misunderstood creatures. Students gained firsthand knowledge about animal adaptations, were able to ask an animal expert questions, and challenged their previous assumptions. Students learned how animals traits are influenced by environments, how variations in animal characteristics improve survival, and how particular habitats allow thriving and survival. To see a few of the photos from the ZooMobile's visit, please click here.

If you are having any issues or need to replace any items, please go to their website and fill out the contact us form so they can send you a replacement. The PTO will be using EPI for school supply packs again this fall and will have more information about ordering school supplies for the 2024-2025 school year at a later date.

Meet the Board Members: Chantel Hudelson
Chantel Hudelson is one of the co-secretaries of the Discovery PTO for 2023-2024. Chantel and her husband Beau have three sons: Quentin (8th grade), Axton (3rd grade), and Easton (1st grade). Chantel is a Sr. Corporate Sales Manager at SONIFI Solutions and her husband Beau is a Director of Financial Planning and Analysis at Pathward. Chantel is often busy with her boys as they participate in pretty much every sport, and when she does have free time, she enjoys traveling and playing softball.
