PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Dear Pleasant Run Families:

Throughout the week we had several different student celebrations. My favorite celebrations took place on Thursday and Friday. We were able to recognize those students who met or exceeded their NWEA Growth Goals and those students who had shown improvement. Overall, we recognized more than 250 students!

We have enjoyed seeing our 4th grade students work on the Dream Big Challenge in partnership with the Indiana Pacers - students had the opportunity to create their own interpretation of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” message for a chance to win FREE Pacers tickets! We had some really neat projects turned in and I can't wait to see the results of their hard work!

The following classrooms had over 90% attendance this week and have earned an "Out of Dress Code" opportunity on Monday.

PTA NEWS

Joining the PTA allows you to meet some great people. PTA functions are opportunities to meet other parents and teachers, to build rapport and discuss issues that are on your mind. You can share ideas, concerns, and experiences to make the school year better for everyone.

The mission of the Pleasant Run Elementary PTA is to act in the interest of the children, to encourage understanding and cooperation between parents and teachers, and to promote programs that benefit the success of children’s learning. The Pleasant Run PTA supports education through active participation and advocacy.

Pleasant Run Elementary has a very active and supportive PTA. We sponsor many fun events throughout the school year. We also provide volunteers for many school events as well as provide support for school programs such as Super Reader, Breakfast with Santa and the annual fund raiser. Please join us for a PTA meeting to see what we’re all about.
