Staff of the Week
Ginger Velasco has been picked the staff of the week. When Ginger was a little girl, she wanted to be a flight attendant. She attended and graduated from Mt. Vernon high school. Instead of attending college, Ginger stayed at home with her two sons Miles and Rudy. She has a chihuahua named Cashew. Her birthday was on November 5. Ginger likes the close nit, great kids, friendly atmosphere, and our great high school counselor here at Verona. Outside of school she spends her time doing activities like bingo and yard work with her husband and children and loves to organize. Lastly, her greatest accomplishment is being a mother and having the two greatest sons in the world.
Student of the Week
Jorge Lara is just another example of the students that make Verona so great. He leads by example with his respectful manner and his hard work in academics. He strives to be successful in whatever he brings himself to do. He’s also pretty cool. He has always planned to go to college and get a degree in either architecture or engineering. Currently, he is working a fast food job at Arby’s to support his family and his girlfriend and put food on the table. He’s got three siblings: a brother and two sisters. He’s also got chihuahua at home named B. And his amazing mother takes care of them all. Jorge gets along with basically all the teachers here in Verona, because he’s just that cool, but his favorites include Mrs. Ruiz Diaz, Mrs. Harrall, and Mr. Mooneyham. He really likes the community atmosphere of Verona and how much support and help there is. Did I mention that he’s pretty cool?
