Community Update from Principal Griffin
Dear Erie High School families,
Thank you for your continued partnership in another great week at Erie High School. I appreciate the dedication and commitment shown by our students and families to engage positively in school during our inclement weather remote learning day on Tuesday, January 16th. Our use of and access to effective technology allows us to continue learning for all students in spite of adverse weather conditions, and I am grateful to our students for their commitment to continued learning on this recent inclement weather day.
We are just a few weeks away from our second practice SAT test for students in grades 9-11. On Wednesday, February 14th, our freshmen, sophomores, and juniors will complete a practice SAT test. For seniors, this will be an asynchronous learning day. This practice test is a great opportunity for our students to increase their familiarity with the new online College Board assessment system, as well as to build their skills and knowledge for success on the SAT. Thank you for your support and encouragement of your child(ren) to make this practice test a meaningful and impactful experience.
Congratulations to the Erie High School Robotics team for a very successful competition last Saturday, January 13th. We had the opportunity to host dozens of Robotics teams from around Colorado, and the Erie Robotics teams shined! Two teams (3743C and 3743Z) earned tournament championships, and both teams have qualified to compete in the state competition in March. Team 3743A earned the Sportsmanship Award as recognized in a vote by peers, coaches, and officials. I am proud of the achievements of all of our dedicated Robotics students and grateful to the coaches and parent volunteers that support this incredible program for our students!
Our winter sports programs are in full swing as we enter the home stretch of the season. Our girls swim & dive, boys wrestling, and girls, boys, & Unified basketball programs are all having great seasons so far. We have enjoyed positive community and fan support throughout the year, and we hope to see that continue as our students compete in the last few weeks of the regular season. To keep up on upcoming games and events, please visit our Athletic Calendar online. Good luck to all the Tigers competing this weekend!
I hope that you and your family enjoy an outstanding weekend. Thank you for your continued partnership in the success of your child(ren) and our great school!
Sincerely,
Josh Griffin
