Dear Ivan Green Families:
We are so close to being ready to welcome all of our Ivan Greeners for the 23-24 school year. Our school is sparkling in most places, and teachers have been in setting as their rooms become released by the construction crews.
We are thrilled with our renovations. We have some new magnetic whiteboards, fresh tack boards, fresh paint, some new staff bathrooms, and a clean and welcoming entryway.
If you have done any home construction, you know that timelines can be really tricky. While most of our work is finishing on time (thank goodness), we are still working in the kitchen on some upgrades, and some of our HVAC upgrades will be delayed. The most critical delay is that our cafeteria will not be air conditioned this fall, as we had hoped. Due to supply chain shortages, we will not be able to cool the cafeteria until next year.
We are so grateful to Mr. Dunson and his small but mighty crew of cleaners who have worked diligently to stay on schedule for cleaning each space in our school.
We are hoping to have a "room parent" assigned as a volunteer to support each classroom this year. We still need several to make this goal become a reality.
