Almost Monticello Street High School?
In 1968, Athens Drive was actually Jones Street. The residents on the road were frustrated at the confusion of having 4 Jones Streets in Raleigh! The residents signed a petition requesting a name change for the road. They were given a list of names to select, and the residents chose Monticello Street. Meanwhile in North Raleigh a man with a proud Greek heritage petitioned that the new road in zip code 27612 be named Athens Drive. There must have been a mistake and the road names were switched. The residents here at the newly named Athens Drive were happy enough that it was not Jones Street anymore!
