Welcome to Salem Middle School's weekly newsletter. These will be sent out every Friday, recapping the week and publishing dates of important events in coming weeks. We hope you find the information useful! We are ready for a great school year at SMS.

We had a GREAT first week of school! The students were awesome in following all the new changes at SMS. Our staff was excited to welcome everyone back and worked extra hard to make sure procedures were followed, keeping everyone healthy, happy, and safe! We are ready for week two!

The students did a great job remembering to wear masks and follow the arrows to safely pass to their next classes. Remind your child to charge their Chromebooks nightly and bring them to school every day. This is an important key to their learning success.

Also, please remember glass water bottles are not allowed.

Extra copies of last year's yearbook are available to purchase for $13 each. Students can buy these during AAA class from Mrs. Day.

• 7th and 8th cheer practice will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school.

I am so excited to meet each and every student in our wonderful building.

Here's a little info about school counselors.

School Counselors work with students, families, and the community. School Counselors can help students deal with personal problems, anxiety, coping strategies, schedules changes and must more.

When should you see the counselor?

Mrs. Ellis has an open door policy. You can come to my office when you need time to cool down, have questions, or just need someone to talk to.

Salem Middle School serves students in 6th through 8th grades.
