SHES Weekly Update

Hello SHES Families!
We had another great week of learning, laughing, and thriving together!
As I have shared previously, i-Ready is used in grades kindergarten through eighth grade and encompasses both assessment and skills practice in reading and math in English and Spanish. Teachers will send home results on Friday, October 1st. We will also be attaching information from i-Ready that will help you understand and interpret the report. Additionally, we will be hosting an i-Ready Parent Evening on Monday, October 4th, from 6:00-7:00 pm via Zoom. The first 30 minutes will be a presentation explaining how to interpret the results, and the final 30 minutes will be an opportunity for you to ask questions. We hope that you can attend this essential evening. I will send out more information for the evening event and a Zoom link soon.
We need candy donations for the Fall Festival and volunteers before and after school to sell tickets the weeks before the Fall Festival. Please see the message below from our PTA.

- Instructional Assistant, Special Education - Under the direction of a Special Education teacher or other assigned administrator, assist in the instructional program and behavioral management of physically, emotionally and learning disabled students in Special Day Class, Resource Specialist Programs and/or any other regular education of special education program; provide instruction and a positive role model to students in basic living skills, social interactions and academic development.

A Message from PTA:
Roughly one month until our annual Fall Festival, let the countdown begin!
Fall Festival planning committee has an upcoming meeting this Wednesday, 09/29/21, at 6 pm via Zoom (this will be our last Zoom meeting; all meetings after that will be held in person at Shadow Hills).
At this meeting, we will be discussing volunteer opportunities, pre-sale tickets (2 weeks before the festival), and several other topics and updates from the previous meeting. We need volunteers selling pre-sale tickets at JMMS, CELC, and SHES. If you are available to volunteer a half-hour of your time, we would greatly appreciate it. You will have a PTA board member present with you. Please click on this link to sign up.
If you are a business or know of a company that would like to donate and advertise their business at the festival, please contact Claudia Sanchez. Any business that donates will be included in the yearbook "Thank You to Sponsors" page that goes out to the campus at the end of the year.
We need candy donations, water, Gatorade, and monetary donations for the festival. All silent auctions items and donations can be dropped off starting now through the festival. You can coordinate with a PTA member to bring them to the PTA room or drop them off in the office with an indication of "Attn: PTA."
If you are creative or enjoy creating decor, we are looking for some help with creating fall/Halloween decor for the campus for the festival. Please reach out to Emily Minear for information about this.
