Principal Update
9/16/22
Dear LP Families,
We completed our first full week of school and I think it's safe to say we are exhausted! That being said, we had a great week continuing to build relationships and learn routines. I have been lucky to get into classrooms this week to learn names (My goal every year is to learn 100% of our students by name!) and do an activity with the kids about the power of change. Our students are pretty amazing!
While I think we are doing a great job learning protocols and procedures, there is one concern I need your help with. I am asking families to please not drop your child off to school before 8:20am. We do not have adult supervision until this time and it is a safety concern to have our students waiting outside the building unsupervised. Thank you for your help with this matter.
We have some great events coming up so please be sure to scroll through the rest of the newsletter for some important information. Open House and Homecoming are right around the corner! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.
Have a nice weekend!

News from Mr. Trumpowsky and Mr. Savine!
Chorus will be starting soon! LP has a chorus for each grade level. Each chorus will perform two concerts this year at Eastridge High School!
Sign-ups for chorus are taking place right now. Every student was given an informational sign-up sheet to take home. If your child is interested in chorus and hasn't signed up yet, there is still time. Please fill out the bottom of the permission slip and have your child return it to school.
If you need another permission slip, they can get another one from me at school.
Thanks!
Mr. Trumpowsky

We need your help!
- We are still desperately looking for a VP and have had zero luck, we need a membership chairperson, and a chairperson for the various events, too. Our volunteers have dwindled and support is at an all time low. So, we’ve decided as a board to cancel Fall Fest on 9/23 and Literacy night on 10/14. It’s possible other events will be cancelled as well and we will discuss this in greater detail at the meeting on 9/20 so everyone is apprised of the state of our unit.
Here’s the meeting link/info for 9/20 meeting:

Pick-Up Reminder and Drop-off Routine
Also, if you are dropping off your child to school in the morning, we follow a one-way exit pattern for efficiency/safety purposes. You will drop your child off at the first set of double doors on the south side of the building. You will then continue driving around the back of the building, through the utility access road, and out central office to Norton St. On Monday, you will see signs and staff members to help facilitate this process. Please note, we cannot allow cars in the bus loop during morning drop-off or allow cars to turn around and exit back onto Pardee Rd. due to safety concerns.
Digital Survey!
The state requires that we send out a Digital Equity Survey each year. We do so through the Parent Portal in Infinite Campus. This provides us with more accurate information about who has internet access at home and who does not.

Important! Parent Portal Information
In order to access information like transportation, report cards, iPad protection fees, etc., you will need to create a parent portal account.
How do I create a Parent Portal Account?
Parent Portal Instructions:
In order to create a parent portal account, you will need to have an email address on file with the district before you begin. If you do not already have an email address on file with the district you will need to call the main office of your student's school from a phone number associated with you and your student in order for them to update your information. If you have neither an email address nor phone number on file with the district, you will need to visit your student's main office in person.
- Visit www.eastiron.org, click on the Infinite Campus link, select Campus Parent and click the "Click here to request a parent portal activation key" link on the Campus Parent homepage. You may also choose to go directly to the URL below.
https://ic.eastiron.monroe.edu/campus/portal/custom/requestActivation.jsp - Enter the email address that you provided to the district in the box and click the "Submit" button.
- You will receive an email with your activation key.
- Click the "New User" link on the Campus Parent homepage (refer to step 1 if necessary).
- Enter your activation key in the box and click the "Submit" button.
- Enter your desired username, password, confirm your password and click the "Submit" button.
