Thank you to everyone who came out on Friday and if the traffic is any indicator - A LOT of you came out. Jiji told me the cars were filled with smiling faces and happy visitors. It was such a magical event that really showed our community. As always, there is room to grow. We will be looking for ways to make it better (including better traffic patterns). If you have any thoughts - we would love to hear from you. Also, start saving your unwanted decorations. We will gladly take them after the holiday.

Also - a big thank you to those of you who donated decorations, helped set up, made sure the event went smoothly and of course stayed to clean up. It is amazing how much time and energy goes into putting on events. We are lucky to have such a caring and devoted community!

Why do you need to do this?

APS is currently updating the mobile phone numbers on record so that we can send school cancellations and other urgent notices via text message.

How do you do this?

We ask that you update your contact information in Aspen using the workflow directions listed here: https://5il.co/1ldxt If you have multiple students, please complete the workflow for each one. Families who wish to have their child(ren) receive text messaging from the district/school, should provide student cell phone number(s) through this workflow as well.

The invitation is for the English Language Advisory Council (ELPAC) meeting on Thursday, 12/15 from 6:30-7:30. The meeting is being held at Central Office.

Our fourth grade chorus will be putting on a concert for their families on Monday, December 19th at 6:00PM. Details about the event came home from Mr. Clavette.

Attleboro Public Schools is so excited to be partnering with the Attleboro YMCA to be able to offer swim lessons to all grade 2 students in Attleboro. The program will run for 8 weeks and will take place during the school day. Students will be bussed to and from the Y. Studley is scheduled for the end of end of January - March.

We will be having an informational session on December 14th to share more detailed information with families and answer questions. The session will be virtual in order to reach more families. A link will be sent by email prior to Wednesday.

As we close out term 1, we will be looking at our attendance data more closely as it is a goal on our School Improvement Plan. As you know, attendance is an important factor in children's success. Research supports that student attendance has a direct correlation to student achievement and graduation rates.

Many of you are excellent at communicating the reasons why your children are absent, and we are very appreciative of that. THANK YOU! It is extremely helpful to keep everyone on the same page. We recognize and acknowledge that there are REAL reasons why students are absent, and we appreciate you for keeping them home when they are ill. However, these are still days out of school and days accumulate over time. Part of our responsibility, at the school level, is to inform families when students reach a certain number of days out of school - regardless of reasons. We are in the process of preparing this data for you. Our first step is to inform families and support in any way that is needed.

We all like a little spotlight once in a while.... If you or your child would like to spotlight a staff member, please fill out this form. Your comments will be shared with the staff to brighten their spirits by showing them just how much they mean to you.
