Happy November🍂🦃🍽️
What's Happening This Week: 🏀🎺📘
Greetings Parents and Guardians,
Just as a reminder, we have an 11 am early dismissal on Tuesday, October 31st. Also, we are not celebrating Halloween on this day, so costumes or excessive Halloween makeup is not permitted.
We have a parent information meeting for the upcoming musical, Dear Edwina, taking place on Monday, October 30 from 7 to 8:30 pm at Columbia in our cafeteria. Auditions are taking place on Wednesday and Thursday of this week from 2:30 to 4 pm. Our performances are open to the public on February 9th and 10th at 7:30 pm. Our staff and students always put on a great show so we hope to see a lot of students sign up this year. This year's musical is led by Ms. Chorazyczewski, Mrs. Schwider, Mrs. Kinsella, and Ms. Kuper.
In just a few weeks report cards for trimester 1 will be mailed home (11/17). Progress reports were recently mailed out to homes as well. If you have any questions about grades please reach out to the teacher. If you need help getting into PowerSchool please let me know and I can help you get into the system.
Let's make it a great week at Columbia!

SEL Second Step Program
Dear Parents,
In this week's Second Step lesson, your child will apply the goal-setting process they learned in this unit to work toward a 10-minute goal of their choice. Your child will practice breaking big goals down into smaller, short-term goals. Your child will learn to use 'If–Then' plans to overcome roadblocks. If–Then Plans help your child anticipate potential roadblocks and create plans for addressing them.
Parents, try asking your child about the goal-setting process they learned in this unit and why it is beneficial. Please continue to encourage your child to set a new short-term goal that is right for them and to follow the process they learned. Check-in along the way to see how the process is going and offer to help when needed.
