THE WEEKLY LION UPDATE

We had a lot of great things going on this week here at RCHS but most of out time was spent taking Final Exams!! We are one semester down for the 2023/2024 School Year. RCHS has experienced a lot of change this year with an entirely new Administration. I want to say Thank You for everything you have done to make this transition as smooth as possible. We have also dealt with some tragedy this semester and have been able to lean on each other for support so we could be there for the kids. Working in education is not easy. Everyone in the building wears many hats and makes it look easy. RCHS is a special place. Thank you for welcoming me in and I really look forward to the future and the great things that we will all be able to accomplish together. I want to wish everyone in the community of Rushville a very Happy Holidays! Spend time with friends and family, relax, and enjoy the season! Before we know it we will be back into the swing of things! It's Almost January 8th!!! You know what January 8th is??? MONDAY!!!!!!!! Happy Holidays Everyone!!!!

I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone at RCHS for a great first semester! Thank you for making me feel so welcome! It's hard to express how much I appreciate everyone helping me get acclimated and answering all of my questions coming into a new position and school. I am so grateful to be here and be a part of such a great staff and school! Hopefully everyone has a chance to relax, recharge, and enjoy time with family the next few weeks. Happy Holidays!

WOW! I cannot believe it is already the end of the first semester. It seems like just yesterday I had to yell the different blocks of the day to the students to remind them what day it was and now they are pros! I hope everyone gets some well deserved rest during this Christmas Break. It amazes me how involved our students are with multiple sports and clubs all while being stellar students. They are able to participate in such a wide variety because of how awesome our staff members are! Time to recharge is definitely deserved! Thank you to the staff, students, and parents for being so welcoming to me at RCHS. Just remember, it isn't about the amount of Christmas decorations or presents you have, as long as you are able to spend your time doing what brings you joy and you have the holiday spirit in your heart! :)

There really are no words that can express my gratitude to everyone on staff here at RCHS as well as everyone in the City of Rushville! This has been a great first semester and thank you for bringing me into this family. I am excited for our future and what we are going to accomplish here over the next few years! This entire staff including our awesome cafeteria staff, our amazing custodians, our great bus drivers, our terrific support staff, and our top notch teachers goes above and beyond for our kids every day. Thank you all so much for a great first half of the year and here is to making the second half better than the first! Happy Holidays to everyone. Relax and enjoy the time with friends and family!!

Nan Scanlan - Shout out to the SPED Team - Thank you for your support of one another and for me as this has probably been one of our hardest semesters ever. We have done great things for our students and will continue to do great things despite the losses that have challenged us. Have a Merry Christmas and take time for yourselves as it is deserved.

Shea Gerrian - Huge shout out to all the staff members, especially Rachel Monk, who has excitedly helped me take care of my newborn when I have come in over my maternity leave. It's very difficult managing a little person when they don't feel the best let alone doing it while you're working. It takes nothing short of a village and I'm thankful to have mine here.

Shea Gerrian - Shout out to Mrs. Meek for being aware of her surroundings. My husband was in the school bringing me something from my car. He hasn't been here in a considerable amount of time so he went down the wrong hallway to get out of the building. Mrs. Meek immediately stopped him and asked if she could help him. Awareness like that keeps our students and staff safe. Great job!

Shea Gerrian - Shout out to Mr. Cook for always smiling at me even though I bring him mountains of paperwork at a time. I have really appreciated your positivity and respect throughout my entire maternity leave.

Warren Cook - Shout out to Liz Meek for organizing and keeping track of the skip a final students this week.

We had a surprise visit from Buddy the Elf and Santa this week! They brought candy canes for all of our amazing students!!
