Hero Happenings!

Have you ever asked your student how his/her day was and you get one word answers? Use these questions to ask specific questions about the week and get him/her talking!

• Math 6 - What is substitution? How do you substitute in an algebraic expression?
• SS7 - Why is Japan considered an archipelago?
• Science 6 - Use key vocabulary to explain the water cycle
• Math 7 - How do you divide fractions?
• EAST - What is EAST Night Out and what are my responsibilities?
• Science 7 - Give an example of an exothermic reaction.
• Language Lab - What is a homophone? Why is it important to use the appropriate homophone?
• Keycode - What has been your favorite coding activity?
• PE/Health - Riddle: You can’t touch it, but it affects how you feel. You can’t see it, but it’s there when you look in the mirror. You can’t hear it, but it’s there every time you talk about yourself. What is it? ( It’s your self-esteem.)
• ELA 6 - Name the 6 types of text structures.
• Choir - What is your "why"?
• ELA 7 - What are some ways that authors develop their central ideas?
• Adv. ELA 7 - What is an allegory?
• Band - Are you practicing your instrument 15-20 minutes per day? Do you have your concert music ready for your concert on Dec. 1st?
• SS6 - What events were held in the Roman Colesseum?
• Acc. Math 7 - What are two ways you can solve an equation with distribution?

  Example: 1/3(12x-6) = 6

• Arabella T., Kaylin N., and Breelyn D. received an Excellent rating for their Solo Musical Thespy.
• Brooklynn S. and Kaia S. received an Excellent rating for their Duet Musical Thespy.
• Colby B. received a Superior rating for his Solo Acting Thespy.
• The entire troupe received an Excellent rating for their Group Musical Thespy.

• Colby B. and Elijah A. received All-State Cast for their performance in ‘Baby Talk.’
• Arabella T. received All-State Crew for stage managing ‘Baby Talk.’

We’re still waiting to hear the results for our one act. They got to perform in front of the entire Jr Festival though! That was exciting and they did wonderful!

Come out and support the basketball teams and help fill the gym for our HEROES!

The next PTO meeting is Monday, Dec. 5 at 8:30.

Thanks to everyone who participated in the Help the Heroes Fundraiser! We raised over $9,500, which will be used to purchase a tent for each pod and new benches for Hellstern’s front porch. Congrats to Mrs. LaMendola’s and Mrs. McCall’s advisory classes for being the advisory classes that raised the most money and to Kate Thomason and Logan Richey for raising the most money in each of the grades!
