Muskego-Norway welcomes you to participate in the new Stopfinder app. This app will allow you to:

• View your student’s daily transportation assignments, including transfer trips and stops
• Securely share your student’s schedule with caregivers
• Send private messages to the Dairyland Group (Muskego-Norway’s transportation provider)
• Receive notifications and updates related to transportation
• Send real-time vehicle location notifications based on GeoAlert regions you create for your student. (Disclaimer: Please note that as you set up the GeoAlerts, you should choose a location that is close to your home. Setting a region too far out could trigger an alert that the bus has entered the zone you selected, however, the bus may be running the route through the neighborhood and may not be headed to your child’s pickup/dropoff location immediately. If you run into this issue, contact Julie Kelly right away.)

You will receive a separate email from Transfinder, the software provider for Stopfinder, inviting you to subscribe to the service; there is no cost for this subscription. Please follow the instructions in the email to set up and begin using the app.

We thought it might be helpful to share with you the behavioral expectations for our students when they are learning remotely from home on BLUE DAYS. Teachers will be going through the expectations before February 22nd.

Thank you for your continued support of the district’s face covering requirement. As noted in the Parent Reentry FAQ and student/parent handbooks, face coverings will continue to be required after the statewide mask mandate is scheduled to expire or in the event the mask mandate is overturned. We have been impressed with how well students have acclimated to wearing face coverings and following other mitigation measures implemented under the guidance of Waukesha County Health Department and the Stay Safe to Stay Open campaign. The district is in regular communication with Waukesha County Public Health and they strongly recommend the requirement of face coverings in schools. These additional health precautions are designed to keep the virus from spreading within our community and help our schools stay open for in-person learning.

Students do not have school on Friday, February 19th.

Monday, February 22nd is a Planned Remote Learning Day. The expectation is for students to show evidence of learning upon returning to school on Tuesday, February 23rd. If your student is going to be absent from virtual learning, please call the attendance line at 262-971-1830, #2.

We are excited to continue our Summer Learning Academy for Summer 2021! The course guidebook will be finished soon and viewable on our District website once complete.

General information regarding Summer Learning Academy:

• Location - Bay Lane Elementary School
• Registration Opens - Monday, March 15
• Registration Closes - Friday, March 26
• Confirmation of student schedule available on IC- Late May

During the all-district virtual learning day on March 26th, elementary and middle school students will have the opportunity to learn more about career paths by participating in various activities that may be of interest. We are looking for staff, parent, and community volunteers to create short demonstration videos to engage students in these different pathways. If you have an area of passion you would like to share with students, please consider creating a short video. More information can be found in the flyer.

Thank you to those families who have made time to submit an intra-district transfer request for the 2021-22 school year. Should your family be interested in a new placement within our District, please complete and return the form. Realizing we are in the midst of staffing and scheduling decision making for next school year already, the sooner you can submit your request, the better. Beginning May 1, 2021 we will be reaching out to families with decisions about each respective request. Reminder...students should remain with you until 8:55am. Students may enter the building at 9:00am.
