HET December 2021 Newsletter

Thank you to Mr. Laberge and Mr. Clark for coaching our Basketball teams this year. We wish our teams a very successful year!

Mrs. Johnson & our elementary studetns have made it to the Top 10 in their category in the CBC Music "Canadian Music Class Challenge". We are so very proud and wish them the best of luck to make it all the way!! Top 3 is announced on Tuesday, December 14.

The "Second Annual Twelve Days of Christmas Trivia" contest has begun. Students get a chance to win a daily prize and get their names put in for a bigger prize on the last day of the contest. There are also court points up for grabs!!

Staff will be putting on a pancake & sausage breakfast on December 23 for our students.

We were fortunate enough to be asked to make some Christmas crafts/gifts for our local seniors. Our elementary kids did a great job! Thank you Pam and the Town of Wembley FCSS program for including HET in helping to fill the senior gift bags you provide.

Thank you to everyone who supported our school fundraiser. Enjoy those Purdys chocolates!!

Mr. Hopkins had some of our Grade 7 students build candy dispensers in their Wood Working/Construction COMP. Great job!!

* Every student needs a clean, dry INDOOR pair of shoes, preferably an athletic-type runner for their daily PE classes.

* Send students with weather appropriate attire. They go outside twice daily for 20 minute blocks of time and can get pretty cold pretty quickly.

* Students also have 2 nutrition breaks, 20 minutes each. Be sure they have enough food & snacks for this.

* We are required to wear masks so please send your student with one...or 10!! We are going through A LOT!

* Cell phones are only allowed at break time for junior high students. All students must keep them in their lockers or at home at all other times. If you need to get in touch with your child throughout the day, please call the office (780) 766-9103.
