THANK YOU FROM MR. Q, RMS CULTURAL RESOURCE SPECIALIST!
Thank you to everyone who joined us in celebrating Native America Heritage Month this year at Riverton Middle School. From students who shared morning announcements every morning, students participating by sharing their culture and dressing up during culture week, students and families who danced and played the drum for our assembly, and all the students who led the pledge in Arapaho in the mornings. We had such a great turn out with participation. Our Native students felt proud and celebrated as they showcased their culture. Other students embraced the opportunity to be learners and participate in fun alternatives. Here at Riverton Middle School, we celebrate all people and cultures and want everyone to feel loved and celebrated. Thank you for all the support and Happy Native American Heritage Month!
HUNTER SAFETY
We will be running the second session in January and it will be held right after school. The Wyoming Game & Fish Department has set the class size to not exceed 35 participants. If you are interested, please click on the link and fill out the form. We will give preference to students who are currently at hunting age and have the ability to hunt immediately following the class. Once we fulfill those requirements, we will go to a first come, first serve basis. If we can't accommodate you, the Wyoming Game and Fish will continue to offer courses as well.
CHARACTER STRONG UPDATE!
Ask your middle schooler about the Character Dare from this week's lesson: "Be a Positive Critic" - Pick one business in town you think deserves recognition. Write a thank you note, write a review, or thank them in person.
POWERSCHOOL
You can start completing your students registration forms for the 2023-2024 school year via your parent PowerSchool login. And, good news, there are fewer forms to be updated! You can find the forms under the 2023-24 School Year heading. Please log in and update your information, as well as, add contacts to your student's list who may check them out from school. Please call the office or email Mrs. Mayes with questions.
7TH GRADE REMINDER!
All 7th graders are required to have a Tdap (adult tetanus) vaccine, unless they have a medical or religious exemption. Thank you and please provide a copy to the school. For questions or more information, please contact Nurse Kenna at kborst@fremont25.org.
