Teaching Empathy
Mrs. McKenna is using her 30 min. lessons each week to build empathy and kindness with students. Teachers can then use follow up activities to reinforce the work they are doing. At Jensen we are focusing on improving the way we talk to one another.
As part of this work, we have new signs around the hallways that define the ways we talk about the words conflict, rude, mean, and bullying. Our goal is to teach kids how to be kind, how to problem solve constructively when mistakes are made, and when to identify if someone is being bullied.
Remember to check out Mrs. McKenna's website for more great information about the work happening at Jensen.
Congratulations SuperHEROes!
This week's Jensen superheroes were rewarded for being RESPECTFUL, RESPONSIBLE, SAFE, and KIND.
