There will be an Instrument Rental Night held at MacArthur Elementary School on THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 7 at 6:00 p.m. Instrument vendors will be available at this event for you to purchase or rent an instrument for your student. Please bring your money, as you will leave this event with everything you will need! There will also be an important parent meeting as well. Instruments will be available only after the parent meeting.

The Bradley Elementary Band will have one after-school performance on May 2. On-time weekly rehearsals will occur every Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 7:30-8:00 a.m. in the music room. Behavior and Attendance
Band members at Bradley Elementary are ambassadors for and representatives of the school. Therefore, we have high expectations of student participation, attendance and behavior. Rehearsal behavior must be excellent at all times. Because time is limited, we must make the most use of our time.
Rehearsal and performance attendance is expected and required of all band members. Excused absences will be counted excused only when I receive an email from a parent/guardian. Please do your best to let me know in advance if you must be absent from a band rehearsal.
Music Shirts
Music shirts will be for sale in October. They are green with our Music Department logo. They are $10.00 (price subject to change). Shirts will be used for concerts and serve as our uniforms. If your family needs assistance with the cost of our shirts, please email or call me and we will work to find a solution. Band and Choir have the same shirt and are the same as previous years.
What to Bring to Band
Every student needs to bring these items to every rehearsal: instrument, Band Binder, book (Accent on Achievement, book 1), pencil, and any accessories your instrument requires (i.e. reeds, cleaning supplies, etc).
All Band students will need the following extra supplies:
1” Black 3-Ring Binder, with a clear view front
5 tab dividers
Zip pencil pouch for a 3-ring binder
I will provide the students with a pencil and any worksheets or music they will need. Please purchase the book and bring all other supplies. Let me know if you need assistance with the supplies.
Our Band Binder will be our notebook for data collection as well as a place to house sheet music, worksheets, practice logs, weekly assignments, attendance records, and goal setting pages. It will also contain important information about playing tests, schedule changes and any other important information about band. I will be looking at the students’ notebooks weekly. Every two weeks, I will send a newsletter of important information.
If a student comes to band without their Band Binder, instrument or any necessary items, they will still participate in band. Please do not keep your student home from band if their instrument is in the shop or they can’t find their supplies. They will still be able to participate and is important for them to be present.
